UK DJ and production duo The Squatters team up with house vocalist Steve Edwards on the vocals for ‘Back To The Stars’, an uplifting house track with polished percussion, feel-good vocals and big breakdowns. Ultra Music Festival is coming to Croatia from 12th – 14th July 2013 for Ultra Europe. Taking place in the city of Split (12th& 13th July) and the island of Hvar (14th July) for the very first time, organizers have also revealed the further news that Ultra Europe will now be housed exclusively in Croatia for at least the next five years.

The 20th anniversary of Sonar will be a global celebration which begins in Reykjavik in February and culminates in Barcelona in June, passing through Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Italoboyz Superfiction Recordings imprint drops its second release this month entitled ‘Episode #2’ by the duo themselves featuring a remix from German duo Luna City Express. Ministry of Sound and Nissan continue their flourishing partnership tonight with an Italian tour this month and into December headlined by Italian DJ Alex Neri and taking in cities including Rome, Milan, and Naples. Leftroom Limited follows up the contribution from Waifs & Strays with Maceo Plex teaming up with Odd Parents and Mark E turning in two remixes. Much like Ellum Audio’s Maceo Plex, Odd Parents are US expats now residing in Spain and, having released on Ellum earlier in 2012, have become part of the label’s family unit. This is the second Odd Parent’s collaboration this year with the duo’s remix of D.Ablo & Eric Volta alongside Danny Daze creating enough of a buzz to tempt Maceo Plex into the studio with the Philadelphia pair for ‘Get Enough’.
After a brief hiatus Hi:Rise returns in the form of ‘Ain’t That The Way’ from James Talk featuring Cari Golden. If you’ve been anywhere near a dance floor in the past nine years, it’s possible that you will have been grooving to the hypotonic sounds of Southampton’s unsung hero, James Talk. Toronto’s My Favorite Robot Records team up with eccentric Danish/Icelandic duo The Mansisters for an EP of twisted electronic grooves. The Mansisters is the new moniker of Scandinavian duo Kasper Bjørke and Jon Atli / Sexy Lazer, a pair who have both had previous successes as producers recording for the likes of Steve Bug’s HFN label, Compost Black and Plant. Now, so the story goes, they have joined forces and set up camp together in a huge Copenhagen mansion where they live with a host of plastic and porcelain animals, apparently not having time for real pets due to their dancefloor commitments!
Seamus Haji celebrates the 10-year anniversary of Big Love subsidiary label Soul Love with a look back at some of the more soulful and funkier releases on both labels across two bonus DJ mixes. Fadil El Ghoul, better-known as R3hab is now about to embark on his first Asia tour of 2012. Kicking-off on November 29th, this seven date seven-country tour sees him start off in Hong Kong and finishing up 10 days later in South Korea. R3hab will bring his take on electronic music to some of the world’s premiere venues across Asia, from Zouk (Singapore) to Colour (Tokyo), giving Asian fans their only opportunity this year to see him.
Craig Connelly’s newest production, ‘Like Whatever’, is a mixture of electro-infused, floor-filling trance with an irregular triplet rhythm mid-song that adds an element of surprise. Debuted on The Gareth Emery Podcast at the end of October and on Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance 585, 'Like Whatever' will be released on Garuda on November 26.

Ray Okpara’s Ama Recordings has released Sven Kegel’s ‘Black Jack’ EP backed with a remix from French House stalwart Chris Carrier. Sven Kegel was born and raised in Germesheim, a small district of South West Germany, on doses of minimal, tech-house and house driven through the country by its neighbouring city Mannheim. The signature sound of the city deeply resonates influence within Kegel’s productions and here Sven joins many of the pioneering artists of the Mannheim sound with Nick Curly, Sascha Dive, Johnny D, Nekes and Ray himself on the roster.
Paul Weller finishes off 2012, which saw him land a Number 1 album with ‘Sonik Kicks’, with the release of the ‘Dragonfly’ EP on December 17th. The EP is a collection of hidden tracks brought together for the first time from the critically acclaimed ‘Sonik Kicks’ album recording sessions. The digital version will be accompanied by a strictly limited numbered edition of 3000 vinyl copies of the ‘Dragonfly’ EP. The artwork has been specially commissioned by Peter Blake – the first time he has collaborated with Weller since he designed the ‘Stanley Road’ album sleeve in 1995.

Circus moves towards the end of 2012 with another showcase lined up for its London residency in Egg. After the success of their third Birthday Warehouse Party, Face has decided to throw another one. This time on December 29th at the Rainbow Warehouse, it is to be headlined by Martinez Brothers, Laura Jones, Mosca and Dusky who between them will play all across the warehouse and garden. The Martinez Brothers are two of the youngest and most exciting DJ and production talents in the game – having worked with the likes of Dennis Ferrer and his Objektivity label, Jerome Sydenham and his legendary Ibadan as well as having done studio collaborations with the likes of Argy, Chris and Steve Jnr.
