Defected launches its first ever four-part thought leadership series We Talk As One from tomorrow, Friday 27 November to Friday 18 December, bringing together over 20 people to discuss the present and future of the music and digital media industries, in a free-to-access virtual roundtable format.
The Association for Electronic Music has launched a Code of Conduct against sexual harassment and gender discrimination. This Code of Conduct is launched with support from its membership of over 220 companies, including SheSaid.So and ADE quoting their endorsement, and media partners Mixmag, DJ Mag, RA, Beatportal, Attack Magazine to help prevent sexual harassment and gender / gender identity discrimination within the electronic music industry.
Martin Jensen was recently announced as a judge for the 2020 series of The X Factor in his native Denmark, apparently making him the first ever DJ/producer to hold the position, as well as the youngest judge the show has ever invited. Now entering its 14th season, Martin will be joining fellow DanesOh Land and jazz musician Thomas Blachman.

Defected recently announced the relaunch of the Faith fanzine with its Autumn 2020 issue, in collaboration with its creators Terry Farley, Stuart Patterson and Dave Jarvis. A free fanzine for those into music, fashion and culture, Faith existed as a print mag for seven years from 1999, apparently gathering a fierce cult following and spawning an online forum that set “the agenda for the next decade of the Internet,” before relaunching in 2020.
Tomorrow, 26 April 26 2020, DJs For Climate Action (DJs4CA) will broadcast the ‘largest global back-to-back (B2B) set on record’, with over 100 DJs playing live from more than 50 cities worldwide in celebration of the third annual Earth Night.
After teasing their new film series with an appetiser episode last year, Berlin-based DJ/producer Kevin Knapp and his creative partner Mario Münster have launched a video series about the often interconnected worlds of global cuisine and house music, hosted exclusively by YouTube channel turned record label Eton Messy.
