The party is apparently a place where the dancefloor becomes a safe space for creativity, empowerment, and connection, inviting everyone to embrace their superhero alter ego or be their authentic self.

In September 2024, Defected Records apparently made its mark on London’s Drumsheds, welcoming 15,000 house music enthusiasts to the label’s hometown for an all-day, three-room affair. The event showcased the best of what the label and sister labels Glitterbox and D4 D4NCE had to offer. Now, on 20 September, the label makes its comeback to the warehouse venue, with a line-up that capitalises on the successes of last year.

UK promoter Labyrinth recently announced the first headliner for its new open-air live music series, Labyrinth on the Thames. GRAMMY Award winning South African DJ/producer, Black Coffee will make history on 1 August, becoming the first-ever DJ to headline London’s Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This exclusive performance will also be Black Coffee's only London show this summer.

Announcing the first three parties in Sub Club Glasgow, Secret Warehouse Manchester and Cabaret Voltaire Edinburgh in late February/early March, the Geordie artist vows to return to his roots by playing a selection of stripped-back shows at small venues ‘for all the proper music heads out there.’

Having passed in 2014 at the age of 59, his official charitable organisation has commemorated Frankie Knuckles’ legacy - The Frankie Knuckles Foundation - continues to celebrate his work. Originally from New York and later going to Chicago, he was awarded the moniker ‘The Godfather of House’, which acknowledged his contribution to the genre’s birth. However, he was humbled to receive the moniker, always wanting to put the music first and not the limelight on himself as a DJ or producer.
