Something slightly different for us, but a band certainly worth checking out! Desolation Yes! have released their track ‘Shivers’ as a free download ahead of the release of the new album ‘Out Of Orbit’ in early 2013. The band was previously signed to Neon Tetra Records, but now describe themselves as ‘fiercely independent’, and after over two years of recording the group is keen to release music in a fashion that supports grassroots music, journalism and media.
‘Shivers’ will be released exclusively through handpicked music blogs, which the band members all read on a regular basis. Desolation Yes! lead singer Paul Elliott said: “We’ve always been keen to release music in interesting ways as the industry standard methods of releasing music have been stale for ages. The most exciting things happen outside of the mainstream in music, and in media, and we’ve always seen ourselves as part of that.
