British electronic duo James Ford and Jas Shaw aka Simian Mobile Disco return to the US this week with a brand new video and an all-new live show. SMD recently released the video for ‘A Species Out Of Control’, and will also bring their dynamic new live show to North America for the first time this weekend. 

This Monday, 3^rd September long-time friends and collaborators AN21 & Max Vangeli are set to release their debut album ‘People Of The Night’ on Size Records. Bringing together a host of like-minded producers and vocalists, the album’s blend of emotive and anthemic house is set to cement their positions in their field. At 15 tracks the album is a bold creative statement, but one that pays off fully as it allows the pair to articulate the depth of their musical talents in the broadest way yet.

Friday October 12^th sees the return of Gibb Street Warehouse in Birmingham, England, with an ensemble of artists lined up for the autumn/winter clubbing calendar and the opening weekend particularly strong. The Friday sees Arkitekt and Marco Carola kick off the Autumn schedule, the latter fresh off the back of a summer season in Ibiza helming Fridays at Amnesia with his new Music On night. 

Renaissance has had a memorable 2012. After returning to frequent activity towards the latter stages of last year they have clocked two decades in the business, returning to Ibiza and Pacha this season. Closer to home they started their birthday celebrations with two Sasha fronted showcases in Leeds and Birmingham, with a Liverpool leg lined up for September and a second show in Birmingham with John Digweed at the forefront. And now they return to the compilation field with three releases spanning two ‘Masters Series’ and one ‘A Mix Collection’. 

Velvetine – The Great Divide (Anjunabeats)

Final one for the week, we previously mentioned this track earlier in the month and how it’s a highly anticipated release for the band and for the Anunabeats label. So, with its release due this Monday, this is a perfect track to sit on the site all weekend. Velvetine is DJ/production duo Myon & Shane 54 and American singer-songwriter Aruna and this track actually debuted on Trance Around The World 400 about 10 months ago, and since then has been a vocal anthem within the trance community. 

Circo Loco’s London September parties seems to have become another in a line of events affected by the underlying party preventing curse of 2012. Originally meant to be taking place at London’s first urban beach, for reasons above and beyond Circo Loco’s control, the event will now be taking place at Hop Farm. In true Circo Loco style, they will be using this as an opportunity to make the party bigger and better than before, and can now announce that Jamie Jones, Art Department, Andrew Grant and Sossa will also now be coming along for the ride. 

The latest episode of Size TV was recently revealed and Steve Angello takes it back to the beginning. Before there was “Size Matters,” Steve hosted his own underground “Sizeism” parties at home in Stockholm, Sweden. In this exclusive footage from 2007 you’ll witness Steve Angello before he makes it big, as he hosts a party for friends and family.

London-based UK rap/grime/dubstep group Foreign Beggars is gearing up to release their album ‘The Uprising’ on October 1st via the deadmau5-helmed mau5trap label. Having built a reputation over the last decade for their versatility, prolific creativity and high-octane live shows, they continue to push the envelope, progressing from their roots in underground hip-hop to an eclectic and visceral fusion with electronic music that has seen them go from strength to strength. 

Belgium’s I Love Techno event will be held on Saturday 10 November (10.11.12) at the Flanders Expo in Ghent. I Love Techno - Belgium's premier indoor dance festival - has been setting the tone for 18 years with a winning formula that doesn't compartmentalise, caters for all genres and always presents an eclectic showcase of the best in electronic music; past, present and future.    

This November sees Sunshine Jones drop ‘Bélle Âme Électronique‘, his second artist LP on King Street Sounds sub label Nite Grooves. Having already released works for seminal labels such as !K7, Defected and Siesta, Sunshine Jones is a name synonymous with lovers of ‘real’ underground house music. Releasing music since the early-90s under aliases such as Dubtribe Sound System among many others, Jones has delivered cutting edge house music that pushes the boundaries of straight electronic production. 

Gypsy – Gypsy 2012 (Limbo Records)

Celebrating its 20^th anniversary in 2012, Limbo Records look back to move forward in this special year by getting some of their classic tracks remixed by current artists for another assault on today’s dance floors. Over the years, the label has released some special music, from artists such as Harri, Havana and this one by Gypsy, to more current sounds from DJ/producers such as Gleave.

'17:50’ is the new album by one of techno’s most restlessly inventive artists, Stefan Goldmann. Its weirdly alien, yet extremely catchy melodies and basslines, rough analog drums and distortion hardware should bring new sonic pleasures to innovative dance floors. De-tuning notes has been central to house and techno since the early days in Chicago. 

UK singer/songwriter Astral T has announced that she will set up her own record label ‘Astral Love Affair’, using the crowd-funding service Indiegogo. Fans can pledge money to help bring about a vinyl pressing of the first single – a collaboration with Moodymanc – and in the process secure some super-exclusive perks.

Continuing the series for the sixth consecutive year, Robbie Rivera has just released his new mix compilation ‘Juicy Ibiza 2012’. Epitomising the sun-drenched atmosphere of vacation time, beaches, palms and pool parties, Robbie drops the newest cuts in a feel-good summer vibe. Kicking off CD1, Robbie Rivera and Manuel De La Mare make the entrance with ‘I Love Ibiza’, followed by ‘Forever Young’ and ‘Makes Me Feel Good’. 

Graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Emanuele de Raymondi is an Italian avant-garde composer and sound artist. His music is based on techniques of digital sound processing combined with traditional compositional structures; his recent works explore the relationships between sound, space, perception and memory. He writes music for theater, film and media arts, collaborating with artists such as Kathleen Supove', Jennifer Choi and Oguz Buyukberber.

Tiësto recently announced that he’s launching a contest giving North American college students, and other listeners, the chance to host their own show on Tiësto’s Club Life Radio, one of SiriusXM’s commercial free electronic dance music channels. For each date of Tiësto’s forthcoming 2012 “Club Life College Invasion Tour”, which kicks off on October 2^nd at Syracuse University, a different winner will be selected to get tickets to a concert and to host a recorded one hour radio show on Tiësto’s Club Life Radio. 

Denis The Menace & Syke’n’Sugarstarr – World In Your Hands (Subliminal Records)

Finally out this week, this is a massive tune from Erick Morillo’s always reliable Subliminal Records. With a radio and US Mixshow edit included on the promo for those who like their tracks short, the mixes that we’re concentrating on are the Original, Club, Dub, Instrumental and Tim Anderson Remix. The Club Mix goes for the big beats and huge breakdown, which allow the vocal to stand out and build through effects before unleashing the beats again. 

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano continue their assault on clubland with the upcoming release of ‘Finally Here’ on Spinnin’ Records, out October 1^st. The duo already have a bit of a reputation for creating big room tunes and this one definitely continues in that vein.

The Satellite team make their return on the scene with a new EDM (electronic dance music) download site that provides 100% curated music and unique features that offer DJs and producers a way to shop online in the same customized way they would shop at their favorite record store. SatelliteEDM is the brainchild of the original Satellite partnership, owners of the NYC, Boston and Atlanta Satellite Records stores and website from 1993 - 2007. Now they are continuing their legacy as a resource for dance music. 

Following fan favourite 'Black Is Back', the Finnish duo of Miika Eloranta and Janne Mansnerus, aka Super8 & Tab return with another high-energy track in ‘Fiesta’. "Like back in the days with 'Helsinki Scorchin' and 'Elektra,' with 'Fiesta' we wanted to experiment with new sounds and workflows to keep our minds open and fresh. We wrote the track for big stages and according to the reaction at festivals, it was a bullseye. It has been one of the biggest tracks at our gigs for few months now and is a natural crowd mover," says Miika Eloranta (Super8).

Punky Blaster – Missin’ (Toolroom Records)

Usually, we’re supplying you with a Monday morning slice of soulful house music to ease you back into normality. Today though, we’re taking the French-influenced house route, with the latest release from Toolroom Records – step forward Parisians Punky Blaster!

Morcheeba front-woman Skye returns this autumn with her third solo record, ‘Back To Now’, released through PIAS on October 29^th.  Production credits for the album, which is accompanied by lead single ‘Featherlight’, come from the Grammy Award winner Stephen Fitzmaurice (Paloma Faith, Metronomy and Professor Green).‘Back To Now’ sees Skye on assured form in the follow up to 2009’s ‘Keeping Secrets’.  

Since its formation in 2010, Hot Creations, led by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, has been at the forefront of a new house style. Combining elements of pop, R&B, deep house, disco and funk, the Hot Creations’ sound is instantly identifiable, sound tracking the floors of the world’s best underground clubs. The label has helped shape one of the sounds of modern house, launching the careers of a new generation of producers and DJs, including Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed, Robert James, and Miguel Campbell.

After a hugely successful debut event last year, the Scottish Soulful Weekender returns for three more massive days at The Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries, Scotland, from Friday 2^nd November until Sunday 4^th November. With its proximity to the border with England, the event is sure to attract house and soul worshippers from all over the country, keen to soak up the vibe generated by over 70 international DJs and live acts playing the best in soulful music across the dance music spectrum. 

It’s just the one event for this weekend and Saturday brings in September with Romanian tycoon Horatio at the helm for Natural Rhythm. Natural Rhythm will be making their first appearance at Sankeys, and in enlisting Horatio to headline, they’ve declared a bolshy and lustful opening gambit. 

In Liverpool this September, Circus celebrates its 10^th anniversary with the cast of Sasha, Yousef, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex, Davide Squillace Lewis Boardman and Scott Lewis. Circus is one of the UK’s most iconic events, a party which has enhanced the city’s reputation as an epicentre for electronic music culture. It’s during this decade that Circus has fervently grown over the past 10 years, its revered status augmented by the quality of its bookings and the loyalty of its crowd. 

For the first time in the quarter-decade since its release, classic cult hip hop documentary Big Fun In The Big Town is finally being released to the public on DVD – now, the music inspiring the film is getting its own shine with this special limited release also from Five Day Weekend. The groundbreaking documentary explores the different sides of hip hop’s lineage with depth and precision, and the 10 tracks featured on this soundtrack bring that history to blaring sonic life.

The awful weather affecting central England this Bank Holiday weekend has forced the closure of the sold-out Creamfields event for today, Sunday 26^th August. Creamfields have been using Twitter to inform festival-goers not to turn up at the site for today’s performances as the site is currently closed.

The Jungle Brothers' 1988 debut, ‘Straight Out The Jungle’, was a landmark release in the development of conscious hip-hop. That album's successor, 1989's superior ‘Done By The Forces Of Nature’, builds on the innovations of the group's debut and adds the polish of major label production under the steady eye and ear of Kool DJ Red Alert, the work’s executive producer.

Wally Lopez, Spain’s biggest DJ/producer, joins the Positiva label for the release of The Japanese Popstars remix which has been available on Beatport since August 13^th and is out on all sites on the 27^th August. Having already delivered huge remixes for Beyonce, Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, The Ting Tings, and The Editors, The Japanese Popstars are more than qualified to deliver a main room bomb. Their remix should tick all the right boxes on the most discerning of dance floors. 

As a DJ, producer and label owner, it's been a big few months for Stacey Pullen. The Kosmic Messenger has enjoyed a strong season in Ibiza so far, holding down a residency at Marco Carola's fledgling Music On night at Amnesia, and joining Luciano and the Vagabundos crew to smash it at Ushuaia, with another party at Pacha to follow.

Miss Mavrik has been clocking up air miles this summer with a DJ schedule taking in many of the Adriatic coasts top open air clubs, boat parties and festivals, including events in Croatia, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Spain and Romania. Yesterday, she was on the main stage at Croatia’s massive Spancirfest Festival. She is also the current face of Kam DJ Equipment and The 00DJ, and has appeared on the cover of Trend Music Magazine (Italy) and appeared as the May calendar addition of Calendance Music Magazine (Italy). Miss Mavrik is also a brand ambassador for the new clothing & music range, Subspecies.

Defected In The House returns to Amsterdam’s AIR, with potentially one of the strongest line-ups of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) on Friday 19^th October. AIR, which won awards for Best Sound System, Hottest Club and Best Use of Technology in 2010, was conceptualized by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders and is one of the most visually impressive clubs in the world.

On Sunday 16^th September, Judgement Sundays will bring to the end its 13^th season this summer with a succession of heavy-hitting DJs and live performers. The brainchild of Judge Jules, Judgement Sundays has forged a reputation over its 12 previous seasons as a club night with very few equals. Housed in San Antonio’s Eden, Judgement Sundays possibly creates one of Ibiza’s must-see club nights, seamed together by some top DJs playing in a fantastic atmosphere.

Notorious for his eclectic mash-up mixes on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra, few DJs can craft a mix quite like Jaguar Skills. A musical ninja with a secret identity, his fast and furious sets are an aural assault of every tempo; from house to D&B, and everything in between. His new release on Ministry of Sound Records. ‘Jaguar Skills & His Amazing Friends Vol 1’, captures the intensity and deft mixing skills of his live sets that have seen him become one of the most in demand DJs in the world. It debuted on Trance Around The World 400 in November 2011 and then trended worldwide during A State of Trance 573. Now, Velvetine's track, ‘The Great Divide’, is finally set for release on September 3^rd on Anjunabeats. For those unaware, Velvetine is the EDM group that consists of DJ/production duo Myon & Shane 54 and American singer-songwriter Aruna. The three made the decision to form the Velvetine project after collaborating in 2009 on 'Helpless', because they had ideas for tracks that didn't exactly fit into the Myon & Shane 54 clubby vibe and the trance vocals Aruna had been associated with.



To mark the launch of Snowbombing 2013, the organisers have revealed they’ll be taking their show to one of the world’s best party destinations, Amsterdam! The Melkweg club will be taken over, in association with Cable, on Thursday October 18^th as part of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). ADE welcomes the globe’s foremost DJs, promoters, festivals and agents coming together to discuss the latest news, projects and progressions in dance music, before turning Amsterdam into a colossal celebration of raving!

Chicane & Ferry Corsten - One Thousand Suns (Modena Records)

Final one of the week for us, and due to the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, this will have pride of place on our site until Tuesday. As soulful as we like to start the week off, you know we like to finish it with something epic - think we found it here with this collab between Chicane and Ferry Corsten. Both pioneers of the early trance sound, what they’ve produced here is an anthemic slice of dance music that is perfect for end of the night magic, or just a euphoric journey of high-octane sounds.

Earlier this week, at the gallery of Joseph Klibansky, Rize Gallery, the young artist (28) revealed the artwork for the new compilation from Armin van Buuren. The artwork, created for the ‘Universal Religion Chapter 6’ album of the Dutch DJ, is the second work the art star created in collaboration with the world-famous DJ. Klibansky, one of the world’s fastest growing artists of the moment, once again created a work of art that perfectly fits the effect of the music. 

Cast your mind back to the summer of 1992... pretty non descript isn’t it? After the euphoria of acid house a few years previously, music and culture in general was not so much in a slump, as altogether prostrate and crawling, wheezing across the floor. For those of you who can remember 1992, we once again had a Conservative Prime Minister (John ‘Peas’ Major) minus a Lib Dem lap dog as his deputy; television such as the Brittas Empire and music that was so over-blown and out of touch it made Chris de Burgh seem cutting edge. 

As the summer Bank Holiday season swings to an end, Sankeys flips the musical styling for one weekend to invert their usual Friday/Saturday split. This time the deepness and music that normally characterises Saturday’s dalliances hogs the limelight the day before, with Friday’s bolshy, escapist and in-yer-face blissful abandon getting switched to the main weekend slot. Both benefit from an ensemble of talent assembled for Continue and The Manchester Pride Dance Party. 

As the closing parties of Ibiza 2012 soon start to sound out their final beat, Toolroom records presents an accompaniment to the magic of the White Isle with ‘Toolroom Records Ibiza 2012 Volume 2’. Pirupa – Party Non Stop (Riva Starr / Huxley Remixes) (Defected Records)

One of the biggest tunes of the past few months is eventually nearing a release date (we think?!). Pirupa’s ‘Party Non Stop’ originally appeared on Locodice’s Desolat label earlier in the year before it was snapped up by Defected Records, who commissioned mixes from two of house music’s best cutting edge producers – Riva Starr and Huxley.

Microsoft and 343 Industries, in conjunction with new soundtrack partner 7Hz Productions, recently announced the “Halo 4” Original Soundtrack (OST) produced by composer Neil Davidge of Massive Attack fame will be available online and in stores on 22^nd October. The “Halo 4” Original Soundtrack, featuring 15 tracks and over 75 minutes of unique music, marks the first time a new composer has taken the reins for the iconic series’ musical score since the launch of the original “Halo” game more than a decade ago. 

They’ve put on parties on boats on the Mersey and the Mediterranean, had rioting street parties in the mid-afternoon and re-defined escapist raving in a nightclub, but Garlands’ latest adventure sees them take the brand somewhere even more interesting. That heritage of hedonism continues in fine style as Garlands takes the Fairies to a place they’ve never been before... the bottom of the garden.

French producer Art Bleek returns with his new full-length album, ‘The Time’, and album that slips languidly and confidently between deep house and techno. Warm rhythms lope across the veldt, underpinning an album that has a more laid-back tone than Art Bleek’s previous full-length release. 2011’s ‘Tilt’ was a punchy, angular affair, whilst this feels relaxed and blissful. The tracks move organically, fusing complicated layers with ease to create lush, cinematic soundscapes.

Grimes, makes her only scheduled stop in Ibiza this Thursday for an exclusive performance at ENTER.. Afrojack returns to home soil with a bang as he hits the Amsterdam Dance Event. Bringing his party ‘Jacked’ to the Paradiso venue in the heart of Amsterdam on Wednesday October 17^th, Afrojack promises that it will be the must-see event of this year’s ADE.

Following the  campaign by PledgeMusic and Pulse Films on the recent Libertines documentary ‘There Are No Innocent Bystanders,’ the two companies have teamed up again to promote ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits,’ a new documentary and concert film from LCD Soundsystem, one of the most celebrated and influential bands of its generation. Shut Up and Play the Hits’ premiered at Sundance in January of this year.

Plump DJs Present Grand Hotel Records – Dirty Weekend EP 3 (Grand Hotel Records)

Big three-track EP which has just been released this week as an exclusive on Beatport, with a full release on September 10^th. With three completely different tracks, it’s already been getting loads of promo support from DJs across all types of genres. Second track, ‘Rocket Soul’, has been remixed by Germany’s Marten Hørger, who twists the life out of the classic Plumps’ track, adding all sorts of distorted twists and breaks.

After featuring on the No.1 gold selling hit single with DJ Fresh ‘Hot Right Now’, the Roc Nation / Columbia Records artist went on to notch up another No.1 with the massive ‘R.I.P’ earlier this year, now she is celebrating once again as her new single ‘How We Do (Party)’ has also stormed straight into the UK charts at No.1, making her the first and only artist to have three consecutive UK No.1s this year.

On October 6^th, NYC-based promoter Area Event teams with renowned theme park company Six Flags to present Electric Adventure at Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. Each ticket for the event will include the show (featuring Alesso, Arty, Super Mash Bros + more) plus admission to all the Great Adventure rides including the mighty Kingda Ka – the tallest and second fastest roller coaster in the world. 

Stockholm’s Jacob Criborn and Leonard Scheja aka Nause unveiled the full-length preview of their summer track ‘Hungry Hearts’. An uplifting vocal edit of what was formerly ‘Mellow’ - an infectious instrumental that the boys unleashed on the masses back in January 2012 to critical acclaim – ‘Hungry Hearts’ has been getting a decent amount of attention this season. 

DJ Ralph Good specialises in house music that is custom-designed to evoke warmth and happiness, and DJs such as Fedde Le Grand, Dubfire, David Guetta, Chuckie, Tiesto, Axwell, Bob Sinclar, Erick Morillo, Pete Tong and Armin van Buuren are among those that have supported Ralph’s releases. We spoke to Ralph to find out exactly where his influences started and to find out his all time top ten tracks…

Nissan is extending its relationship with London-based clubbing and electronic dance music authority Ministry of Sound in the form of a new limited edition Juke. The Ministry of Sound badged newcomer will be available across Europe from September, with just 3,000 set for production. The Juke with Ministry of Sound can be specified with any engine and transmission in the current Juke range, and is offered with a number of special design and technology features that make it a unique and innovative addition to the line-up. 

Kevin Saunderson – The Sound (Jay Lumen Sacred Sounds Remix) (Toolroom Records)

With Inner City, or on his own, Kevin has been behind some of dance music biggest tracks, best compilations and some top albums. Here though, it’s his classic ‘The Sound’, from 1987 (!) that gets brought bang up to date by Jay Lumen with his Sacred Sounds remix.

Lots of hype over the past few days on who was going to be on the UK FIFA 13 cover with Barcelona’s Leo Messi. EA Sports upped the social media ante with a great campaign inviting Twitter users to guess who it was using the hashtag #FIFA13UKCover. 

Cocoon Recordings get set for the release of the latest album from Daniel Stefanik. Daniel Stefanik has had a rapidly growing influence on electronic music since he first appeared on the scene in the mid-noughties. Hailing from Leipzig in Germany, Stefanik has released music on some of the country’s leading labels including Mobilee, Moon Harbour, Freude Am Tanzen and of course Sven Vath’s Cocoon Recordings. 

Muse recently announced that ‘Madness’ will be the first track from their new album to be released as a single; the track will have its first play on radio today and will then be instantly available to buy online worldwide. The band will release their sixth studio album ‘The 2nd Law’, on Helium 3 / Warner Records on the new date of October 1^st.

Festival No.6 in Wales recently announced that it is teaming up with BBC Radio 6 Music as part of their Autumn Live Music Programme to transmit exclusive performances from some of the acts performing at this year's event. To celebrate New Order headlining the first year of the UK's newest festival and the Radio 6 Music partnership, the Brythoniad Male Voice Choir were commissioned by Festival No.6 to record a unique version of Blue Monday, the biggest selling 12” of all time. 

Bassnectar, the California-based DJ, producer and maestro of all things bassy, and the man who has singlehandedly sold more hard concert tickets in North America than any other EDM artist this year (Deadmau5, Guetta, Skrillex, Avicii, Tiesto… the lot!) has just set off on his biggest European tour yet. 

Christened - “Bassnectar’s European Vacation” – it kicked off at the Pukklepop Festival in Belgium on Friday 17^th August and the DJ/producer will play a total of 13 shows throughout Europe this summer, taking on a mixture of club gigs and festival stages. 

Nova Fronteira - Everybody Loves The Sunshine (Soul Love)

Nice and soulful for a Monday as usual, this blissful slice of house music on Seamus Haji’s classic Soul Love label is a cover of the Roy Ayers’ classic and should be instantly recognisable to most. It has summer written all over it and once you stick this on repeat those ‘beginning of week’ blues should quickly fade away.

Launching October 12^th in the UK, Lionhead Studios recently revealed the first “Fable: The Journey” video documentary, “Telling the Tale.” This vidoc takes “Fable” fans behind-the-scenes with the Lionhead team for an in-depth look at the game’s narrative.The game immerses players in the tale of a young dweller named Gabriel and follows him on a journey to change his fate and become the hero that battles the corruption that plagues Albion.

Toronto’s Groove Garden looks to label boss Cesar Caballero for its latest single, a percussive house workout entitled ‘Funketeao’, backed with remixes from Omid 16B and Butter the Butcher. Colombian born Cesar Caballero has been building quite a following for his Groove Garden label in recent years with a string of quality releases featuring his own music and that of like-minded artists. Originally from Cartagena, a coastal town on Colombia’s northern shore, Caballero started his musical career as a drummer, playing Afro-Caribbean funk-rock, before finding electronic music and moving to Toronto, Canada in 2006. 

Italian label OUT-ER returns with a new EP from DJ/producer Alessandro Stefanio aka Buck featuring four tracks of deep and dubby techno. Southern Italian record label OUT-ER, or Outelectronic Recordings to give it its full name, has rapidly established itself as a new bastion for electronic music with its singles to date from some of Italy’s finest, including The Analogue Cops, Luciano Esse and Santorini. Now the imprint looks to another Italian production heavyweight, Alessandro Stefanio AKA Buck, for its latest release ‘The JVSB EP’.

Cream’s story began back in 1992 when it staged its first event in a small 400 capacity venue in the backstreets of Liverpool, few then would realise the success it would go on to achieve and 20 years on, through sheer ambition, Cream has gone on to change the face of clubbing and become one of the leading global players in electronic music festivals, inspiring many of today’s visionaries along the way. To celebrate its 20^th anniversary, Cream returns to its spiritual home of Nation in Liverpool to celebrate this landmark occasion with two birthday bashes taking place on Saturday 6^th and Saturday 13^th October.  

DJ W!ld joins forces with London imprint Act Natural to deliver the ‘After You Lay Down’ EP this September.

 Act Natural have moved from strength to strength over the past year, releasing original cuts and remixes from the likes of Chris Carrier, Matt Tolfrey, Huxley, Alex Arnout, Adam Shelton and Claire Ripley, capturing the essence of contemporary house with style. Paris-based DJ W!ld is yet another addition to the roster, providing his deep, dark, acid sound that is often represented through his own outputs and music he put out via his own Catwash Records.



Yousef’s second complete artist album, ‘A Product Of Your Environment’, is due out this autumn on Circus Recordings. It moves away from the usual process of a beat led project that has become so familiar among DJs, as the album is designed to be listened to from start to finish as a complete work. With full songs, complete instrumentation and a focus on melody the album equally takes time for a sophisticated selection of serious club workouts. 

Tonight, between 11pm and 2am, Ibiza and Mallorca Live’s resident DJ Andi Durrant will host a special three-hour show on Capital FM showcasing a plethora of this summer’s best live recordings from the Balearics’ Ibiza and Mallorca Live. Tonight’s Capital FM Ibiza and Mallorva Live special will feature an array of live recordings from some of the UK’s biggest stars who have taken to the Ibiza and Mallorca stage this summer, including Dizzee Rascal, Wretch 32, Rizzle Kicks, Labrinth, Jessie J and Andi himself.

Avicii recently revealed the identities of the three artists set to make-up his official ‘Silhouettes’ remix package, in a two-minute video trailer produced and directed by At Night management. Hand-plucked, the edits and reworks - which will be released through his LE7ELS record label on Beatport in the coming weeks - come from electro house mainstay Lazy Rich, EDX with his ‘Arena Club Mix’ and last but by certainly no means least, upcoming superstar and “one to watch” Syn Cole with his exclusive ‘Creamfields Mix’.

Dutch record company Armada Music has launched its very first Spotify app. The official Armada Stream 40 app is based on Armada’s weekly overview of the most popular tracks of all labels of the company, based on sales, streams and social media activity, and is available to Spotify users globally from the Spotify app finder. Created by Dancefoundation, who have several Spotify apps in development at the moment, the Stream 40 app is a good start to a musical quest for EDM lovers.

Kryder – Ultima (Trice Recordings / Armada Music)

Final one for the week and it’s another track pumped full of adrenalin to set you up for the weekend ahead. We seem to be covering Kryder quite regularly, which is always a good indication that an artist has lots going on. This time, it’s his new release on Armada Music and Trice Recordings that’s got us all excited. It’s a Beatport exclusive just now but will be widely available from the end of the month.

Dada Life may have carved out a niche all their own. Their live show is something to behold; complete with champagne sprays, banana balloon drops, sausage tossing and those Dada’s banging their heads to the beats. Fans add to the craziness of a Dada Life show by “Doing The Dada” and showing up in full banana body suits and by bringing along creative props. 

Berlin-based Steve Bug is set to release his fifth and possibly most mature long player. 'Noir' doesn't deny its roots, but expands the usual spectrum and invites the listener to an exciting listening pleasure. The cover is dominated by the filmic aesthetics of light and shadow. The title evokes a world of shady transactions and secret crimes. 

Bristolian Eats Everything is at the forefront of the UK’s new underground house music resurgence, gobbling up elements of UK bass, Detroit techno, jungle and early rave in his sets, redefining the parameters of house music, and showing dancefloors all over the world, just what fun it can be to dance. Now, Eats is headed to North America for his first solo tour, taking in shows in Detroit, Miami, San Diego, Montreal and more, kicking off August 30^th. 

ThermalBear – U Love (Last Night On Earth)

Don’t know much about this one accept that it’s out on Monday and is another lovely release on Sasha’s record label. Sasha maintains the label’s philosophy of releasing good music, whether it’s from established artists or up and coming producers, which is the latter in this case for Dennis White aka ThermalBear. 

Trance as a genre is now little bit more than 20 years old. Recently, Finnish DJ and producer Orkidea (whose career spans over 20 years) noticed that the history of trance isn't that well documented and decided to contribute a little by creating a Facebook timeline showing the evolution of the genre. The timeline starts all the way from "prehistoric" times of Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Giorgio Moroder and Vangelis and explores the proto-trance sound of the likes of KLF, Dance 2 Trance, Age Of Love and Oliver Lieb around 1988-1991. 

Already released in the US on Yoshitoshi, this week Sharam hit the European market with his highly anticipated new compilation, ‘Night & Day’, on Black Hole Recordings. ‘Night & Day’ is the follow-up to Sharam’s critically acclaimed genre bending 2011 ‘Warung Beach’ compilation and a unique look into the musical world of one of dance music’s most revered artists. ‘Night & Day’ is split into two mixes that reflect Sharam’s unique approach to DJing at parties both during the day and at night. 

With their self-titled debut album due for release next month, there is a certain amount of hype building for the date, with many people expecting something big from the Danish duo’s off kilter brand of highly charged electro-punk-pop. Danish producer Kasper Bjørke, who acts as the band’s co-manager, declares: “The album captures exactly that same madness and dynamics that the band master on stage and that was exactly what we were aiming for all along.”

The team behind Leeds’ nightspots Mint Club and Mint Warehouse continue with their plans for the new Mint Festival. Taking place on Saturday 29^th September 2012, 12 midday - 1am, at Lotherton Hall, Leeds, the festival see the likes of Wolf & Lamb, Soul Clap, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Sandwell District, Joker and more all play the picturesque grounds of the Hall.

Darius Syrossian - 10 Miles From Lima (Klangkultur Schallplatten)

Out next month we think, this is a good two-track release for Darius Syrossian as he continues to cement his popularity amongst the cooler DJs and clubbers around the world. An integral part of Steve Lawler’s VIVa label, which he has gigged for on numerous occasions, as well as presenting a monthly two-hour radio show for the label, Darius drops this latest release on Cologne’s Klangkultur Schallplatten label.

Bass and breaks don Featurecast hypes up the excitement for his forthcoming album, ‘Run For Cover’, by giving up a killer DJ tool from his arsenal. This remix of Public Enemy's 'Harder Than You Think' has been a festival set finisher for those lucky enough to have a copy and was a floor smasher at Shambhala Festival last weekend where Featurecast played the Fractal Forest stage.

DJ, remixer and producer Avicii will burn his way into the history books as the first ever EDM artist to headline at the world-famous Radio City Music Hall in New York. The landmark occasion for the 22-year-old Grammy nominated Swede has been announced as part of a 19-date Stateside Fall Tour, taking in major venues, an eclectic mix of festivals and huge university shows. The historic Radio City Music Hall gig, on 27^th September, sees Avicii grace the same stage as legends like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr, Ray Charles and BB King through to The Eurythmics and The Rolling Stones.

The latest Fatboy Slim Big Beach Boutique party is to be shown at cinemas across the globe on August 31^st giving party lovers the chance to experience the biggest and best Big Beach Boutique production yet, on the big screen and in 5.1 surround sound. Fatboy Slim Live:  From The Big Beach Bootique was filmed at the Amex football stadium in Brighton, home to Fatboy Slim’s beloved Brighton and Hove Albion FC and a venue that’s close to his heart. 

Fur Coat explore the power of thought in their first album for Crosstown Rebels, ’Mind Over Matter’, after a steep climb into mainstream consciousness. The Venezuelan duo were spotted by Crosstown Rebels head Damian Lazarus little more than eight months ago, and they have since been on lockdown to complete their first studio album.

Kruse & Nuernberg – Let’s Call It A Day (Lazy Days Recordings)

Kruse & Nuernberg release their debut artist album through Lazy Days Recordings in October. ‘Let’s Call It A Day’ sees the Hamburg based pair – who have previously released on labels such as Noir Music, Liebe*Detail and their own Save Room Recordings – step outside their boundaries to present an eclectic journey through their musical influences, including Indie luminaries Little Dragon, Metronomy and Phoenix. 

Pete Tong returns to SW4 in London this year with his ‘All Gone Pete Tong’ arena, featuring some of the best support from the world of electronic music. Joining him on Sunday 26^th August are Sasha, Seth Troxler, Maya Jane Coles, Dyed Soundorom, Eats Everything and Jaymo & Andy George. Pete’s main stage outing at last year’s SW4 was followed by a headline slot at the Together Winter Music Festival. 

If there is one thing you can’t blame Maarten Elen and Jonas Kiesekom aka Mumbai Science for, it’s a lack of imagination. At only 24, the duo already have a decade worth of creative experimenting behind them, from making politically incorrect rock music, to writing absurd theatrical plays. However, it was only in 2010 that their musical passion culminated into the pounding indie-electro vibes of ‘Mumbai Science’, creating a sound that melts contemporary electro-synths with a vintage techno feel.
