Moda Black is back with a new EP from Alexis Raphael. On 'Shutdown' Raphael serves up two tracks that continue in the tradition he has already established in the early part of his career. He is part of London's new breed of electronic music acts and earned his stripes across the pirate radio stations of North and East London during the late '90s and early '00s, going on to hold residencies at clubs such as The Cross and Bagley's.
Magna Carta recently revealed their Saturday line-ups for their forthcoming season at Sankeys in Ibiza. We Love Sundays At Space recently revealed this season’s residents, welcoming a key group of international artists to the team, with a few familiar faces joining some new ones. Houseclass returns to CDLC Barcelona in May, running weekly from Thursday the 1st until 4th September with a special Frankie Knuckles memorial. Ibiza’s Pukka Up, have launched a brand new range of clothing for the 2014 season in collaboration with street wear fashion brand, Your Own – Y-O. The new collection called ‘YO Going Global’ features a selection of women’s and menswear, embellished with the Pukka Up and YO branding. Y-O is the brain child of Anthony and Chris Donnelly who decked out the likes of Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty in their iconic Gio-Goi range.

Returning to Leftroom with his third EP after previous outings in 2009 and 2012 is Gavin Herlihy, the Irish born producer who has also released on labels like Cocoon, Culprit and Crosstown Rebels. An accomplished DJ who plays everywhere from fabric to Panorama Bar, the former journalist has plenty of tricks up his sleeves as evidenced by this EP, complete with a remix from boss Matt Tolfrey. On Saturday 12 July and Sunday 13 July, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) will return to the UK for a two-day party. Electric Daisy Carnival UK will transform outdoor entertainment venue Milton Keynes Bowl into a brand new world, with stages including Kinetic Field, Circuit Grounds and Cosmic Meadow. The Electric Frog & Pressure Riverside Festival recently confirmed the final acts added to the exclusive official festival after-party bill for the two day event this May Bank Holiday weekend. Stretching across two Glasgow venues, SWG3 and The Admiral, the festival organisers announced that Tiga, Killer Kitsch and Mash will play the Admiral venue on Saturday 3 May.

Carlsbad – Razer is set to launch its first electronic music initiative with Afrojack. The partnership is spawning an app that combines Afrojack’s skills with the Razer Blade Pro laptop to help DJs and producers make better music. Afrojack teamed-up last year with Razer to consult on the Razer Blade Pro gaming laptop and Razer DeathStalker Ultimate™ gaming keyboard for music production. Back with another track, Crosstown Rebels have just released the latest track from Psychemagik, 'Black Noir Schwarz’, their first original production not to be self-released and already championed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. A big club track, the original is driven by the wonky bassline, dark and sultry vocal (from Renata De Sutter aka Renegade) and freaky synths. Sad to hear this morning that 'Godfather of House Music', Frankie Knuckles, has died aged 59. Although born in NYC, Frankie had closer links with Chicago, where he moved to and was instrumental in the birth and development of house music in the 1980s.
The Gallery celebrates its 19th birthday at the Ministry of Sound on Friday 25 April. The party, which has helped launch the careers of many big name DJs, has also been one of the responsible factors for putting trance, progressive and electronic dance music on the musical map in London, providing the music that has defined a generation of clubbers.
