Solomun continues to make a name for himself in dance music circles, largely thanks to his releases, edits and remixes, but also because of Diynamic, the hugely influential label he runs. 2013 sees the hype for him continue to grow where in Ibiza, his Solomun + 1 night at Pacha Ibiza finds him headlining with one hand picked guest playing alongside him.
Native Canadian, LA-based DJ/producer Sydney Blu has just released her latest mix compilation ‘Change The Game’, featuring 17 tracks and an exclusive debut on Black Hole Recordings. The compilation takes you on a voyage from tech house all the way to the realms of progressive, with tracks from Thomas Shumacher, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Alex Kenji and more. It also contains an exclusive debut of her new track ‘NYCMIA’, a combination of piano synths and a bassline, as well as other originals and collaborations.

Clandestin kicks off at Space Ibiza this Friday promising a musical project for the chosen with a top line-up of DJs including its main Friday resident, Felix Da Housecat. Felix was born in Chicago, the capital of clandestine and illegal gambling dens, where back street doors were the entrances to the best parties and where underground movement lives without restrictions. In 2014 Bugged Out will celebrate their 20-year anniversary and across the year the brand will be celebrating the significant milestone, starting with what has become their flagship event: the Bugged Out Weekender, this time back where it all began in the North of England. After two successful events in 2012 and 2013, the 2014 Bugged Out Weekender will take place on the new dates of March 7, 8 and 9th at a new location; the Pontins resort in Southport, near Liverpool.

Ibiza clubbing stalwart, Danny Whittle, has joined forces with Eden’s new Dutch owner, Michael van de Kuit, to help guide and boost the San Antonio club’s music policy and build Eden as an international brand. As one of the island’s biggest party spaces, with capacity for 5,000 clubbers, Eden has just undergone a complete renovation and refurbishment, all aimed at making the club one of the island’s key destinations.
ID&T recently unveiled its line-up for TomorrowWorld, set to take place on September 27-29th 2013 in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, USA. Mallorca, Spain based imprint, Sub_Urban, drops its third release today, with Gaol’s ‘Get In To’ EP. Sub_Urban kicked things off in 2012 with Guri’s ‘Freedom’ EP, picking up support from the likes of MANIK, Ekkohaus, Andre Crom and Tom Budden. Here the label moves forward in 2013 with a release from Gaol, an emerging name on scene and producer of deep, emotive house music.

Defected In The House in association with Bomba Events joins Carnival Cities to host two Saturday night parties in LAB at Sankeys this month. After three weeks of free workers’ parties in the Savannah Back Room, Bomba Events and Defected recently announced two Saturday night Defected In The House parties at Sankeys Ibiza with Carnival Cities on 15 and 22 June.
This is something of a bitter sweet release for Superfreq as it is the last single ever to be released by duo Motorcitysoul aka Matthias Vogt and Christian "C-Rock" Rindermann, who in late 2012 decided to end their mutual work after a decade long partnership. This single came about because some months ago Texan Brett Johnson visited the German pair and was based in Christian’s studio in Hanau as he played gigs in Frankfurt, Berlin and Mannheim.
Twenty-year old Lucas Nord is a rising star within the Swedish house music scene. Already achieving great success in 2012 in his native land for his first two solo singles ‘Let us Stay Young’ featuring Urban Cone and ‘Close To You’ featuring And Then, Lucas has also made an impression with his remixes for acts such as Adrian Lux, Loreen and Rasmus Faber and is currently on the dials for Crystal Fighters.
The 2020 Vision imprint drops more fresh house cuts this June, with the ‘Boxer’ EP by Quell, comprising four original up-tempo workouts. Berlin based Quell aka Nikolaos Raptis, is a relatively new name to the house scene, but the up and comer has been striking chords as of late with releases for the likes of Kolour, Tsuba and Ibadan. Raptis grew up on a diet of indie and rock whilst living in London, but caught the electronic music bug at the tail end of the ‘90s house explosion.
Tala returns on his Doble Ciic Music imprint with a new single backed with remixes from Third World Orchestra and Tilman. Tala is one of a new breed of South American DJ/producers who seem to be making a mark in the world of electronic music. Releasing for labels such as Leftroom and Depto he has built a strong following that now carries across to his own label Doble Clic that he runs from his base in Cordoba, Argentina.
Nick Woolfson makes a return under his AKRA guise to his fledgling Teng imprint this June, with ‘TunnelVision’, backed with remixes from Matthias Vogt and Iron Curtis. Teng Records was launched by Nick Woolfson, one half of the electronic outfit, Mock & Toof, in 2012 as a platform for Nick to release a newly formed house and techno sound under the AKRA alias.
