British DJ and broadcaster, Pete Tong, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to Broadcasting and Music in the New Year’s Honours List 2014. The MBE caps a hugely successful year for Tong. He relocated to Los Angeles in September due to the increase in US-based broadcasting activity via his daily All Gone Pete Tong radio show on Evolution (a new dance music station on iHeartRadio, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment's digital radio platform), and a weekly one-hour syndicated show, Evolution With Pete Tong.
Showtek have aunched a new record label, Skink, with single, ‘We Like To Party’, which is out now. Closing out 2013, Showtek establishes an upfront platform and offers up a track to set a strong tone for the New Year. The track embodies all that the Dutch duo is known for - high-energy big-room vibes.

Colours recently announced that Hardwell, the world’s number 1 DJ, will be playing his biggest Scottish show to date on Saturday February 8 2014. Bringing his I Am Hardwell show to The Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh, this will be only the third location in the UK to host the show after London and Manchester.

Ministry of Sound has announced that Teenage Cancer Trust is its first official charity partner. The club launched the new partnership in October with the first of many fundraising club nights, which hope to raise £50,000 over 12 months. The Our House Is Your House club nights will showcase some of the world’s best-known dance music artists and the first event kicked off with Defected In The House in November raising almost £3,500. DJ and producer Nicky Romero will be headlining the second event on Saturday 21 December and further club night dates in 2014 will be released in the following months.

‘Gravity’ is the third single taken from the new third studio album ‘Lost’ by Trentemøller. With the drum setting inspired by early Krautrock, this track still breathes the Trentemøller signature. The vocals have been contributed by Jana Hunter, singer of Baltimore based band Lower Dens, which melts perfectly with ‘Gravity’.
Above & Beyond will premiere their ‘Above & Beyond Acoustic’ concert film on Vice's THUMP channel on January 24, and release a studio album of the same title on January 28, worldwide via Anjunabeats and on Ultra Music in North America. With the inaugural Ultra South Africa only a few months away, festival organisers recently announced Phase 2 of the line up for those flocking to Cape Town and Johannesburg on the 14th and 15th February 2014. With the likes of Tiësto, Alesso and Nicky Romero among those already confirmed to perform, as well as homegrown talent such as Goldfish and Black Coffee, even more international and local stars have now been revealed.
Nicky Romero has released his edit of R3hab & Lucky Date's forthcoming single, ‘Rip It Up’, via his label, Protocol Recordings. Romero has taken the electro-infused progressive house track into his own hands for a new arrangement and some additional refinements. The original ‘Rip It Up’, due out on Monday December 23, takes on a pumping dynamic with segments including everything from distorted riffs to lush chords and razor-sharp synths.
This is a first release on My Favorite Robot from Italian duo Hunter Game, complete with remixes from producer Petar Dundov and German Christian Prommer. Hunter Game have had releases in the last year or so, with a debut EP on Solomon’s Diynamic and two follow-ups on Sasha’s label, Last Night on Earth.

It is through Holland’s Black Hole Recordings though that he’s elected to make the jump to sophomore artist album.
