Three electronic music artists come together for a new take on possibly one of the most recognisable records in dance music. Brennan Heart, HI-LO, and Project Zeitgeist (alter ego of Australian hardstyle act Toneshifterz) unite on ‘Adagio For Strings’, which is out now via HILOMATIK, delivering a modern reinterpretation of the Tiësto classic.
Following last year’s release ‘DIZZY’ with LUSI and previous Drumcode tracks such as ‘Crescendo’ and ‘Rabbit Hole’ with Layton Giordani, the HILOMATIK boss is back with another production. ‘REESE’ marks his annual outing on Adam Beyer’s imprint, with the title track serving as a tribute to Kevin Saunderson’s bassline sound.
More than a decade after it first hit dancefloors, ‘Koala’ returns, reimagined by its original creator, Oliver Heldens, under his techno moniker HI-LO. Out now via HILOMATIK, the track offers a darker, more driving take on one of the tracks that helped launch his career. Stripping back the energy of the original and layering modern techno, he reshapes the track into a peak-time production aimed at today’s underground.
Label boss HI-LO unveils his first solo release of 2025 with ‘United In Trance’, out now on his imprint, HILOMATIK. Following a start to the year with ‘INFERNO’ (with KASABLANCA), ‘Born To Love’ (featuring Sarah de Warren) on HILOMATIK, and ‘Work That Body’ (with Temper) on Armada, the Dutch producer returns with a driving, techno-trance fusion that showcases his musical vision.
HI-LO delivers his latest production just in time for the summer rave season as he reshapes Temper’s ‘Intrigue Hard Club Mix’. With a rolling low-end groove, percussion, and vocal hooks chanting the line, “Ain’t nothin’ but tutti-frutti, get on the floor if you’ve got that booty,” he aims to strike the balance between big-room power and underground attitude.
The underground techno scene aims to ignite during Miami Music Week as HI-LO presents HILOMATIK Miami at Wynwood Market Place on Thursday, 27 March. Building on the success of the label's debut showcase at Amsterdam Dance Event 2024, which apparently sold out with over 8,000 tickets, this event will feature a lineup of artists, delivering a night of energy and beats.
HI-LO apparently had a big 2024 with his releases, including collabs with Armin van Buuren, Chocolate Puma, Danny Avila, Eli Brown, Green Velvet, and Space 92, to name a few. His first release of the year keeps the momentum going with the new single ‘Inferno,’ produced in collaboration with electronic music act Kasablanca.
HI-LO and Maddix, two Netherlands’ techno acts, have joined forces for a new single - ‘My Fantasy.’ A blend of contemporary and classic sounds, the track aims to be the definition of peak time.
HILOMATIK presents ‘Ride or Die’, a collaboration between HI-LO and Eli Brown and a follow-up to their previous collaboration, ‘Industria’. A hip-hop/techno hybrid, the track is dark and brooding straight out of the gates, which gets more intense as 303s enter the fray for a bath of squelchy acid dripped over the deep thud.
HI-LO returns to Drumcode to share another pair of dancefloor tracks. The techno alias of Oliver Heldens has found a home at Drumcode, dropping ‘Hypnos’ and ‘WANNA GO BANG’ Eps in consecutive years, leading last year’s A-sides compilation with a Layton Giordani collaboration ‘Rabbit Hole’, while lending his touch to Adam Beyer & DJ Rush’s ‘Restore My Soul’ as well. Meanwhile, he’s been a fixture of Drumcode’s events at Miami WMC and The Warehouse Project.
