More than a decade after it first hit dancefloors, ‘Koala’ returns, reimagined by its original creator, Oliver Heldens, under his techno moniker HI-LO. Out now via HILOMATIK, the track offers a darker, more driving take on one of the tracks that helped launch his career. Stripping back the energy of the original and layering modern techno, he reshapes the track into a peak-time production aimed at today’s underground.

His version keeps the soul of the original alive but pivots firmly into new territory: where the orginal once danced with upbeat house textures, the remix has builds, low-end, and an intensity tailored for darker club environments and big-room stages alike.
HI-LO: “The original ‘Koala’ holds a special place in my journey, so flipping it into something rawer and more HI-LO just made sense. It’s been going off in my sets — the response has been insane.”
Already road-tested, the track has apparently built momentum across festival mainstages and intimate warehouse sessions.
The release follows a run of 2025 material, including ‘United In Trance’ and collaborations with ZHU, KASABLANCA, Sarah de Warren, Tai Woffinden, and Temper.
