Glasgow promoters Colours blow out the candles on their 29th birthday party, with Ferry Corsten presents Gouryella at SWG3 on Saturday, 3 February. Gouryella, the trance alias performed by the Dutchman, will ‘make his first appearance on Scottish soil for the occasion’.
Like with earlier releases, ‘Fire' (feat Simon Le Bon) and 'Punk', Ferry Corsten has managed to levitate himself beyond the trance genre, possibly gaining respect from contemporaries in house, EDM and underground circles. His latest release, 'Timeout', in collaboration with Dustin Husain, adds another layer to this spectrum of sounds that has contributed to his career over the past two decades.
Ferry Corsten has been honoured by the Dutch Royal family for his contribution to the country’s music economy, both at home and internationally. Peter Oskam, the mayor of Capelle aan den IJssel, on behalf of King Willem-Alexander, appointed Ferry Officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau during a surprise ceremony in the city.
What The F is the culmination of Ferry Corsten’s work “rehashed, remixed, reinvented with a futuristic approach.” A new live show concept, What The F, will journey through Ferry’s entire work, segueing across various genre iterations and infusing new ideas to known tracks alongside undiscovered material. It aims to be the absolute and complete Ferry Corsten fan experience.
With over 25 years of studio experience, Dutchman Ferry Corsten has been among the trance scene’s most authoritative figures since he released seminal trance classics such as ‘Out Of The Blue’ (as System F) and ‘Gouryella’ (as Gouryella), and he now steps up to the plate to teach his craft to the next generation of dance music producers through his first-ever masterclass on Armada University and FaderPro: ‘In The Studio’.
Less than two weeks before the broadcast of the 1000th episode of A State Of Trance on 21 January, Armin van Buuren has unveiled 950 tracks of the all-time A State Of Trance Top 1000. The Top 1000 list will also take centre stage during a seven-day-long A State Of Trance Top 1000 stream that will start counting down to the milestone episode of his weekly radio show when the broadcast of episode 999 ends on 14 January at 10pm (CET).
At the end of last year, Dutch trance DJ Ferry Corsten and Armada Records inked an exclusive agreement for the future representation of Ferry’s Flashover Recordings as well as most of the imprint’s past releases, which includes tracks produced by Ferry Corsten under his System F and Gouryella aliases plus many more artists.
