Scotland’s Hannah Laing links up with German techno/trance-hybrid newcomers Evil Twiin for new track, 'Hijack The System' out now via doof. Driven by synths, a bassline and hi-hats, the new single is powered by a surging, almost spoken-word vocal, a rallying cry about committing to the rave when the world feels stacked against you.
DJ/producer Hannah Laing recently launched her label doof with the release of the ‘Triple F’ EP, a straightforward four-to-the-floor track. Possibly reminiscent of old high-energy ‘90s rowdiness, the EP adds Hannah’s Scottish twist. Opening with ‘FWTDJ (All Night Long)’, which has a cheeky vocal hook, the next track ‘Fuck The Pain Away’ is a non-conforming twist on the track by Peaches.
Previously appearing on Trick’s ‘Tasty Techno’ compilation as well as on Sola, SOLOTOKO, and Spinnin’ Deep, Hannah Laing returns to Patrick Topping’s label with a two-track EP. Both tracks see Hannah reach for vocal samples, heavy-hitting drums, and synth lines, possibly delivering some of her most accomplished work to date in the throes of ‘sold-out shows all over the UK and Ireland’.
