Scotland’s Hannah Laing links up with German techno/trance-hybrid newcomers Evil Twiin for new track, 'Hijack The System' out now via doof. Driven by synths, a bassline and hi-hats, the new single is powered by a surging, almost spoken-word vocal, a rallying cry about committing to the rave when the world feels stacked against you.
The track follows the recent peak-time collaboration with Marlon Hoffstadt, ‘Stomp Your Feet’. Inspired by the clip of Hannah stomping behind the decks, the track is a collision of Hannah’s hard dance and Marlon’s Berlin-bred techno. It landed last month to acclaim from Mixmag, DJ Mag, and BBC Radio 1, who named it their Hottest Record.
The release arrives as Hannah’s doof movement continues its expansion on and off the dancefloor. She’ll bring the doof to Manchester’s Depot Mayfield on 16 October for WHP + Teletech presents doof, described as her biggest headline show at the venue yet, an 8pm-4am takeover marking one of the first reveals for The Warehouse Project’s 2026/27 season.
From her 15,000-capacity hometown festival doof In The Park to being the first female resident at Hï Ibiza, Hannah has risen from Dundee dental nurse to possibly one of the UK’s most in-demand DJs. She has played festivals and clubs alongside Armin van Buuren, Tomorrowland, Longitude, Creamfields, ASOT London, and more.
What began as Scottish rave slang for “banging tunes” has exploded into doof, a label, live brand and global community rooted in high-energy techno, trance and hard dance. In just over a year, the label has apparently scored four Beatport No.1s, hit No.4 on the Beatstats Hard Dance Label Chart and amassed over 18 million streams, earning support from artists including Amelie Lens, Sara Landry and Armin van Buuren.
