Earlier this month saw Luciano continue his newly launched Basaec imprint with ‘Saved & Slaved’, a two-track release featuring a collaboration with Argenis Brito. The Swiss-Chilean producer has probably been at the forefront of underground electronic music for quite some time now, heading up the Cadenza imprint and releasing material for possibly some of the industry’s leading labels such as Perlon, Desolat, Cocoon and Poker Flat amongst many others.

In 2014, John 00 Fleming mixed and released the second of his 4hr-long JOOF Editions music compilations. Described by MIXMAG as “a musical journey with no genre rules, but many twists and turns”, the magazine described it as “the sound of the underground”. A sizeable undertaking in terms of track sourcing, music selection, arrangement and mixing, it has taken John nearly three years to fully realise the third in the series.

Shelter is the production name for Alan Briand, a young Parisian producer with a strong melodic centre producing a sound that pulls on the Zouk, the Afro, the Balearic and the Ambient palette. ‘Zon Zon Zon’ is only his fifth release and his first mini album, following the series on International Feel that has released material from Len Leise, Wolf Muller and CFCF.

In under three years, Glitterbox has possibly become one of the world’s most flamboyant, extravagant parties, with some top DJs laying down a soundtrack spanning 40 years of joyful, uplifting dance music. On Sunday 23 July Dave Clarke will once again host the ‘Arch Stage’, which was introduced to the festival last year, continuing to bring his passion for techno to Tomorrowland, and possibly flying the flag for the sounds of the underground. Dave will present a broad range of dance music and this will be the sixth year in a row he has been entrusted with his own stage at Tomorrowland.

Jean Claude Ades is bringing the feel and vibe of his Be Crazy! Ibiza brand to London for the second in the series of his pop-up events. After the apparent successful launch with Art Department and Neverdogs, he has carefully curated the follow up and on 17 March, it’s the turn of Leon from Italy, a techno DJ/producer whose records are apparently played by DJs such as Luciano, Villalobos and Carl Cox.

Jaguar Skills recently revealed the animated music video for his new track, ‘Are You Ready To Fly?’, which features Wide Awake. The video is directed and produced by award-winning Mustashrik, who will be providing live visuals for Ed Sheeran at the Brit Awards tonight. The video is a hyped-up creation that pays homage to the arcade video-game and anime classics of a specific millennial generation: from fun interactive dance games, to intergalactic alien heroines and mecha-robots.

MOBO Award-winning songwriter, DJ, producer, visual artist and actor Goldie (MBE) recently announced he will release a new double album ‘The Journey Man’ on 16 June. The album comprises two parts, 16 brand new tracks in total, all written and produced by Goldie. It also features a host of collaborators handpicked by him to help realise his vision for the album. ‘The Journey Man’ will be released through Cooking Vinyl and Goldie’s own record label, Metalheadz.
