Brighton’s electronic music community comes together this month as Brighton Music Conference partners with Quarters to welcome Kenny Dope for an intimate seafront show on Friday, 22 May. Kenny has spent decades shaping house, hip hop, disco and breakbeat through his productions, DJ sets and label work. Brighton Music Conference (BMC), the UK’s electronic music and networking event, recently revealed the second wave of names, as the line-up takes shape for its 2026 edition, with over 200 speakers and artists confirmed. Taking place from 20-23 May, the event will once again take over some of Brighton’s seafront venues set against the backdrop of Brighton beach and the iconic pier, with a programme of insightful talks, workshops and networking events.

A&R is an important part of electronic dance music, as so many tracks are produced and released every week that some form of filtering is necessary. Somebody has to look for the new talent, nurture it, mentor budding up-and-coming artists, give feedback on tunes and help producers with their productions.
