Melé returns with ‘Soul Makossa’, the next release from his forthcoming Defected LP, which arrives later this year. The record follows his 2026 collaboration ‘So High’ with UK rapper Jords and multi-faceted producer Wonky Logic, whose hip-hop influences and live instrumental feel attracted radio airplay from Danny Howard, Arielle Free and Jeremiah Asiamah on BBC Radio 1 in the UK.
His club sets are apparently defined by rhythmically diverse percussion and Afro house influences and these skills come to the fore on this release.
Produced in collaboration with Shovell, the record brings together driving house with brass fanfares to create a high-octane club track.
With upcoming sets at Defected’s flagship festival in Croatia and debut season at Chinois in Ibiza, his relationship with the London label continues to blossom.
