Jan Blomqvist

Jan Blomqvist is releasing a new EP on Armada Music, his first since his sophomore album ‘Disconnected’ in 2018. ‘Carry On’ marks the start of a new musical chapter for the Berlin and Ibiza-based artist and will also serve as the basis for a new live show concept that will be showcased during this month’s Amsterdam Dance Event across shows at Dockyard Amsterdam and The Gardens Of Babylon.

From the upbeat title track to the recently released club-centric ‘Kaleidoscope Colours’ (feat. Maybemahri) to the nostalgic ‘Same Old Road’, the three-track EP will have a music video recorded for each of the EP’s tracks in respectively London and a Berlin art gallery, and these will later be coupled with an interview to form a short documentary.

Jan’s sound is deep and fat analog bass pads, layered and breathing dynamically, creating a melodic rhythmic drive and upbeat-yet-melancholic chords upon which Jan’s vocals play.

Across his two albums, numerous EPs, remixes and features (in total over 80 released tracks), he has collaborated with the likes of Ben Böhmer, Booka Shade, Oliver Koletzki, Oliver Schories, Bloom Twins, and Korolova & Ala. B

He has also remixed tracks for Carnage feat. Martinez brothers and Elderbrook, Chris Liebing, and Claptone feat. Seal. He has been on constant tour all over the world since 2012, amounting to 700 live concerts in the past ten years.
