Gareth Cole is the ambitious Brit who has been aiming to carve a name for himself as a purveyor of house and techno both as a producer and DJ. Here he signs up to Steve Bug’s Sublease Music for three slices of deep, techy house. First up is ‘Signal’, a low-slung groover with hypnotic keys, and a thick, rounded bottom end driving the track forward.
On ‘Courage’, the energy is amped somewhat, with plenty of space thanks to the dubby, minimal production.
Gareth Cole: “I was very inspired by music and DJ sets from Guy J - there is this sort of hypnotic groove which locks you into the vibe and music. I designed a really nice lead stab on Sylenth which is my go-to synth and it repeats during the majority of the tune and then other elements play around it to keep it interesting.”
The final track is ‘On The Edge’, delving deep into Cole’s roots in techno - slowly building on the groove with extra elements to create a hypnotic, techy atmosphere that aims set dancefloors alight this summer.
