UK label Toolroom Records recently hit a significant milestone with the 500th episode of their radio show. To celebrate the achievement they invited their fans to take part in a ‘one-of-a-kind party’ in their hometown of Maidstone. Held in a traditional boozer, fans were invited to take part in a pub quiz, testing their knowledge of all things Toolroom and electronic music against label artists Mark Knight, Leftwing : Kody, Martin Ikin, Illyus & Barrientos, Wheats, Siege and Maxinne, before being treated to intimate DJ sets.
The event was a fitting way to celebrate another good year for the label, with their residency in Ibiza, US tour, events at Studio 338, and a busy release schedule.
Broadcast on 121 radio stations across 59 countries, the Toolroom radio show is hosted by Mark Knight and champions the best upfront house and techno. Guests include both rising DJs and established artists, with Carl Cox, Oliver Dollar, Solardo, Roger Sanchez, Hannah Wants, Uto Karem, Josh Butler and many more all having provided mixes for the show.
According to the label, the show has over 250k subscribers and around 15 million listeners every week.
Mark Knight: “I’ve always felt the radio show is an extension of what we do at the label. Through the radio shows we’ve been able to provide a platform for new artists to have their music heard. We are a family at Toolroom, and this has always been important to us, the family ethos resonates through everything that we do, and hopefully this also comes through loud and clear on the radio shows.”
