Brooklyn’s Jeff Sorkowitz debuts on Insomniac’s sub-label IN / ROTATION with his new single, ‘Move Shake’. The track is a deep-tech roller, drawing inspiration from the intimacy of underground parties. Jeff is a record label boss and producer making a name for himself in the underground house space, establishing a high-energy dub style infused with nods to Romanian minimal. He aims to position himself as a pioneer of trademark sound while opening new doors for the next generation of emerging artists.

The track is centred on his own vocals, with its guttural hooks providing a focal point that invites people to dance. Percussion is layered with dark acid squelches, swinging hats, whirring textures, sustained pads, and punchy basslines to create a club groove.

The record has already gained traction among dance music artists. Most notably, it was featured in the viral video of Carl Cox’s "final boss" stage walk at Château de Chantilly in France. This moment occurred during his performance with special guest Mau P on 20 June. The DJ strolled through the estate grounds to the rhythm of the track before an audience of more than 15,000 fans.

Jeff spearheads his own Short Circuit imprint and has released collabs with Ky William, Braydon Terzo, BRANCA, James Wyler, and Cami Jones. His music has been endorsed by artists such as Michael Bibi, Marco Carola, Mau P, Joseph Capriati, John Summit, Loco Dice, Gorgon City, Sosa. He has an upcoming headline show at HB Social Club Honolulu, following previous sets at Ministry of Sound London, Elrow NYC, BPM Festival, Knockdown Centre, and Elsewhere.

Jeff Sorkowitz: “After a lot of experimentation over the last year, ‘Move Shake’ is a return home to my core sound, focused on groove, intricacy, motion and layers. As my first track to ever feature my own vocals, ‘Move Shake’ is my most self-expressive release to date.”
