J Ribbon

Anjunabeats welcomes back J Ribbon with his double A-side ‘Redemption / Lights On.’ Born Johnny Paul Newman, the 21-year-old English progressive house producer first signed to Pete Tong’s FFRR Records at just 15. Now carving out an identity under his J Ribbon alias, he has possibly become one of the UK’s most exciting emerging names, supporting Eric Prydz across his summer residencies at Hï Ibiza (2024) and [UNVRS] Ibiza (2025).

Debuted during his [UNVRS] Ibiza residency, the tracks capture the energy of those summer sets. ‘Redemption’ leans into driving basslines and tension-building synth work designed for peak-time moments, while ‘Lights On’ delivers a melodic payoff that showcases his instinct for emotionally charged club records.

J Ribbon first appeared on Anjunabeats in 2024 with ‘My Habitat’ as part of the label’s ‘Rising EP’ series, earning cross-genre support from Adriatique, Sam Divine, and Don Diablo. He followed with ‘Lifetime’, which has since surpassed three million streams across DSPs, became a regular feature on BBC’s *Match of the Day* and EURO 2024 coverage, and generated over one million organic views on TikTok as a sleeper hit.

Beyond his solo output, he is one half of dance duo Rathbone Place. Their 2021 single ‘Be Free’ received widespread BBC Radio 1 backing from Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Annie Mac and Arielle Free, alongside consistent DJ support from Mark Knight, Jax Jones, Sigala, Bakermat and Martin Garrix.

Off the back of residencies at Hï Ibiza and [UNVRS] Ibiza, he has performed multiple shows at O2 Academy Brixton opening for Above & Beyond, as well as Ushuaïa Ibiza alongside Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, Franky Wah, Armin van Buuren, and D.O.D. Additional appearances at Fabric, Ministry of Sound, AFAS Live, A State of Trance Festival, and Pier 17 NYC further underline his growing profile.

J Ribbon ‘Redemption / Lights On’ is out now on Anjunabeats.
