Dutch electronic producer Joris Voorn temporarily steps away from dancefloor productions on his recently announced album ‘Melatonin’, a downtempo, ambient-focused release shaped by immersive detail.

The album arrives as the companion piece to 2025’s ‘Serotonin’ his fifth studio album and a record rooted in the dancefloor. Where ‘Serotonin’ looked outward to clubs and movement, ‘Melatonin’ turns inward, exploring the artist's relationship with sound design and melodic clarity.

Across the new record, he leans into longer form textures and expansive sonic environments, shaping a quieter, more widescreen listening experience.

Over the past two decades, he has possibly built one of electronic music’s most respected catalogues, moving between club-focused techno productions and more expansive, melodic compositions.

The album is released on 13 March, aligning with World Sleep Day, the annual global moment that draws attention to the significance of sleep and the conditions that shape it, nodding to the wider themes of rest, rhythm, and the quieter hours the record is designed to inhabit.

To mark the album’s arrival, he will present a special one-off performance in Amsterdam’s ARTIS Planetarium. The event will feature a 360-degree audiovisual show, with Voorn performing the album live to an intimate seated audience of 320, surrounded by a celestial projection unfolding across the dome. The full-length performance will be broadcast live via YouTube on 13 March, its release day.
