BiG MiK, aka Michael Armstrong, has shared bricks and mortar with drums and bass. Hailing from Cullercoats, Newcastle, he draws inspiration from everyday life, while maintaining a grounded approach to sound and production with the same creativity that has defined his working life.
On his production debut for Patrick Topping’s Trick label, ‘Forever Walking’ balances both grit and grace, offering a first glimpse of what’s to come from the up-and-coming producer.
The track shows a lightness of touch with soft chords and balmy pads that swirl and drift above the simple yet effective house drums. The keys are heartfelt, while the dancefloor hook comes from a pitched-up vocal snippet.
