Yulia Niko returns with another contribution to her forthcoming ‘Body Language Vol. 26’ compilation, as she teams up with UK producer Alfonso Muchacho for ‘Bad Habits’ – a deep, soulful cover of Jenny Burton’s 1985 track. Out now via Get Physical Music ahead of the compilation’s full release on 19 September, the track continues to shape the sound and spirit of one of electronic music’s talents.
Taking inspiration from Burton’s vocal hook, this versios breathes new life into a classic with a modern, underground twist. It pairs a female vocal with stripped-back, rolling percussion and a low-end. The result is a late-night offering that pays homage to its roots while aimed at today’s dancefloors.
The track follows Yulia recent releases ‘Just Just’ (with Rework) and ‘So In Love With You’, showcasing her range as both a curator and collaborator. It also marks a contribution from Alfonso – apparently a ‘cult figure in the underground.’
