Alay returns to Insomniac’s offshoot imprint IN / ROTATION with her latest single ‘Never Alone’. The Zurich producer is joined by British vocalist, keyboardist, and producer Thomas Gandey for her first standalone single on the label. Tying her Milan and São Paulo roots into her music, the track is a moody melodic house and techno track combining staccato piano chords, cascading keys, and Gandey’s vocal croons with a dark, driving underbelly of squelchy, lashing synth leads and choral harmonies.

The single is paired with her previous launch on the label, ‘Take Me’, which was featured on the label’s ‘Rotate Vol. 14’ compilation, which earned press coverage from outlets including EKM, Find Your Sounds, Skope Mag, Grauu, Music For All, Perspective, and Extravafrench, as well as radio support from Yotto, Eelke Kleijn, and EDX.
The subtle keys at the start of this double-track feature, paired with the rising energy of the chorus, capture the vibrant sensation that permeates throughout.
Alay: “‘Never Alone’ is a reminder that even in your loneliest moments, there’s always something—someone—pulling you back into the light. I wanted it to feel like a hug you can dance to.”
Alay continues to make a name for herself across international stages, performing at venues including Pacha and AKASHA in Ibiza, as well as a recent set at ZOA Open Air Festival. Maintaining this trajectory of her career, she has shared stages with artists such as Solomun, Cassian, Chris Avantgarde, KAS:ST, Kevin de Vries, Layla Benitez, and many others.
Thomas Gandey is apparently also a respected figure within the electronic space, releasing music alongside Rafael Cerato, Quivver, German Brigante, and Pleasurekraft.
