Eddie Fowlkes returns for with the sixth release in his new monthly track series. The dark tech house groove of ‘MD 2’, follows previous singles ‘I’m The DJ That You Know’, ‘Where U Think I'm From’, ‘I Like Tea’, ‘Get Out Of My Life’ and ‘All Day Vibes’.
This latest release is, in Eddie's own words: “A late night groove that will work the crowd in that 3am - 5am DJ session."
With nearly five decades behind the decks, Eddie is a Detroit techno originator. Apparently dubbed “The Godfather of Techno Soul”, he spawned a sound which rests on a foundation of classic Detroit techno and Chicago jackin’ house.
Honoured by the Detroit Historical Museum's exhibit "Techno: Detroit's Gift to the World", Fowlkes and three of his cohorts were distinguished for pioneering Detroit's electronic music.
His catalogue – over 150 releases deep – dates back to the 1986 track ‘Goodbye Kiss’ and features credits on Elektra, Sony, BMG, Defected, Desolat and Tresor. Experienced in both the studio and the booth, he continues to create, aim to push boundaries and release music regularly on his imprints, Detroit Wax and City Boy Records.
