Two names from the stateside house scene are together for the first time on ‘Love Message’, aiming to bring a message of positivity. In the studio corner is Miami’s Robbie Rivera, he of ‘Funk-A-Tron’, ‘Girlfried’, ‘Back To Zero’ and ‘Rock The Disco’ acclaim, all coupled to his Juicy Music sound.

Over on the vocal side is Chicago’s Ron Carroll, whose gospel lick has graced everything from Barbara Tucker’s ‘I Get Lifted; French house tracks including Kluster’s ‘My Love’, Superfunk’s ‘Lucky Star’ and his Bob Sinclar/Axwell collab, ‘What A Wonderful World’.
Robbie & Ron’s generational attunement could hardly be tighter, with both artists coming off the mid-‘90s release blocks within a year of one another. There are references, nods and throwbacks to that throughout the track.

Through the groove of his drums and percussive, shuffling hi-hats, Rivera brings the floor persuasion, while the heart’s delivered through Detroit strings, snares and orchestral stabs.
On the mic meanwhile, Ron preaches his club sermon, urging those gathered to “seek love”, “run after love” … “chase it!” … “cos it’s the only thing that will make us one …”
It’s out now on Magik Muzik.
