Sigma returns to its D&B roots with new label Day Ones, and first single ‘Chargi’. Refreshed and independent, they are stepping into 2025 with a new label, new music, and the plan to rebuild a new legacy on the D&B foundations they laid over a decade ago. Featuring the vocals of UK grime artist Scrufizzer and Jamakabi, the track is a statement of intent for the duo, who are embracing the genre that brought them together almost 20 years ago.

Sigma: “‘Chargie’ is the perfect way to kick things off with Day Ones. It’s raw, unapologetic, and takes us right back to our roots. We wanted to create something that reflects where D&B is now but still has that gritty energy that drew us to the genre in the first place. Working with Scrufizzer and Jamakabi was sick—they brought such a unique vibe, and this track is all about setting the tone for what’s next."

Leaning into the darker sound of their early releases, the track aims to be a big track in every sense that fuses Sigma’s sound with the relevance of current club tastes – a fusion of ‘90s jungle with flavours of jump-up and dancehall; an up-to-date reimagining of their breakout sounds, and a deliberate reminder that it was tracks like ‘El Presidente’ and ‘Rudeboy’ that helped put them on the map.

Day Ones is a label and a statement of intent. Armed with the same passion that fuelled the start of this journey, the now-independent duo re-entered the studio without constraints, just a love for D&B and a commitment to enjoy the process. Enlisting new and underground talent and taking things back to basics at every level has been paramount for Joe and Cameron – an empowering attitude that permeates the label ethos, forthcoming tour dates, and a multitude of releases lined up for 2025.

Sigma: “Day Ones is about starting fresh, but it’s also about paying homage to everything that made Sigma what it is today. We’ve been through it all—the highs, the lows, the grind—and now we’re back doing what we love most, making music for the scene that gave us everything. No compromises, no distractions, just pure D&B energy. It feels like coming home.”

Sigma will be rolling out a wealth of new material over the coming months.
