Next up on Zatar Music is Fairplay with the ‘Sandi EP’, featuring the original title track and a remix by Niconé. The Jordanian DJ and producer duo and Zatar residents, have possibly gained recognition for their organic approach to electronic music, often infused with Middle Eastern and Arabic influences.

With releases on labels like Kindisch, Stil vor Talent, and Bar 25, Faisal and Fuad craft deep and unpredictable productions. Their label debut, ‘Latlal’, is nearing 500,000 streams on Spotify.

On this track, they draw from the North African Gwana tradition, using vocals from Moroccan singer and songwriter Asmaa Hamzaoui and the women’s vocal and percussion group Bnat Timbouktou’s Sandia.

The track is an example of this cultural heritage, enhanced with a thick, driving kick and percussion.

Niconé, a name in Germany’s house and techno scene, brings his flair to the remix. Possibly known for his work on Katermukke, Stil vor Talent, Bar 25, and his own label Dantze, he adds an Italo-disco feel with loopy samples, an arpeggiated bassline, and synthy stabs and claps.
