The collaboration with 24-year-old British electronic alt-pop artist pinkpirate results in an harmonious blend, heightened by her expressive vocals.

Qrion: “When I worked on ‘Lean Into Light’, I was in a sad place. The pluck sounds in the song were inspired by the rain, reflecting how I felt like I was in a dark tunnel, struggling to find my way out. I wrestled with feelings of regret about my life, searching for excuses to make myself feel better. But eventually, I saw the light coming toward me, guiding me to realise that it’s okay to make mistakes. Those years weren’t something to regret; they were a learning experience. I didn’t share much of this with Pink, but she understood the vibe perfectly when we were in the studio. Her delicate voice perfectly matched the song, and she truly brought it to life. I especially love how she wrote ‘Memory Stays’ - it captured the essence of the track so beautifully.”

The album signifies a rebirth for Qrion, representing the next phase of her journey following her debut, written as a reflection of the past. The album is also a celebration of female and non-binary Southeast Asian talent, with features from British-Kongese singer-songwriter Josie Man and Paris-based South Korean DJ/producer, and vocalist DIDI HAN. Qrion teamed up with the American-Chinese animator and designer Zee Yorke for all the artwork accompanying the album.

‘Lean Into Light’ is available now.
