Truncate has remixed Ovum boss Wink before now having possibly established himself within the underground scene as a DJ/producer thanks to a groove-based sound that has seen him playing at techno venues such as Movement Festival, Awakenings, fabric, Berghain and many more. Philly's Wink, meanwhile, remains a figure in the scene with more than 30 years experience.
This latest offering from the duo came out of a collaborative studio session at Truncate’s Los Angeles studio. The pair offer up 'Possibilities', a stripped-back techno track that comes alive with synth patterns over the drums.
Remixing is Sardinia's Elisa Bee, a new school artist with credits on the likes of Unknown to the Unknown and Posthuman’s Balkan Vinyl. She collects all forms of music, which she showcases in her radio show and DJ sets and brings dancefloor dynamics here. Her remix is more direct and heads down - the drums hit faster and harder, and the original synth phrase is looped more tightly.
It's out 12 January.
