British DJ/producer Bushwacka lands on Nu Groove with a four-track EP, ‘House Sound Vol. 1’, that demonstrates his production skills. A member of the Rat Pack rave outfit, his impact on the underground scene of the ‘90s was noticeable and together with fellow Brit Layo Paskin, the pair created compositions that highlighted the sound of house and techno, blending the two genres.
For this fresh outing on the NYC label, he taps into his knowledge of dancefloor culture. The opening, an ode to the legendary imprint ‘Strictly Nu’, builds loops with ease before dropping into an four-on-the-floor club feel.
The subsequent tracks follow suit, with ‘Love Can You’ and ‘Right Now’ showcasing the producer’s club-led sound in full flow, while ‘True For You’ has a more minimalistic approach.
