DJ/producer and Defected House Master David Penn returns to the label with a new deep house single. Over the course of his 25-year career the Spanish dance music artist has demonstrated his broad capabilities, from the Latin house grooves of ‘Esperanza’ and Defected tracks ‘Nobody’ and ‘Push The Feeling’, to remixes of both classic and modern hits from Pete Heller, Candi Staton and Purple Disco Machine.
With sets that prioritise live elements and crowd engagement lined up for summer 2023, he will also appear at Defected Croatia and Ibiza.
For his latest release, the Urbana Recordings label owner explores his range with Congolese vocalist Bemendé; ‘Reachin Out’ features the singer’s husky topline, conveying strength and pain in equal measure as understated piano chords contrast with sonic decoration, signalling a new direction for the producer.
