Unlearn label boss Doc Brown unleashes arguably the finest EP of his career to date with ‘Step Into The Party / Looking For Something’. Sometimes a track just hits you right in the gut, evoking a visceral reaction that’s difficult to put into words. That’s the possible feeling you may get from ‘Step Into The Party’, the lead track on his first solo EP of 2023.
Sleazy, chunky, thunderous and singularare all possible descriptors for the house cut, and that’s before you get to the breakdown, which contains lots of sharp synths. Play this on a half-decent sound system and it may well lay waste to the room.
Backing it up is ‘Looking For Something’, a dark, trippy, rolling tech house cut for the basements. Paired together, these tracks further establish Doc Brown as a reputable producer.
