Previously appearing on Ben Sims’ Hardgroove and Symbolism labels, Truncate, Unknown To The Unknown and more, Elisa Bee has played at clubs such as Berlin’s Tresor, Air in Japan, and many more since her debut release in 2012. Now readying her first vinyl EP for Posthuman’s Balkan Vinyl imprint, the Italian DJ/producer brings three original tracks backed with a remix from UK producer Neville Watson.
Leading the A-side, the title cut ‘Sample Minds’ brings kicks over bleeps, hi-hats, and pads for the opener. ‘Acido Allegro’ follows, with tripped-out filter work, drum machines and acid lines to round out the A-side.
On the flip, ‘Alla Prima’ brings bass hits, a four-four pattern, and synth stabs together. Taking the B2 spot, Don’t Be Afraid, The Nothing Special, and Clone affiliate Neville Watson delivers his Wet On Wet Mix of ‘Alla Prima’, delivering a laidback dub to close out the EP.
