French electronic producer Michael Canitrot recently celebrated the Paris debut of his Monumental Tour at the Palais Royal. During the gig, Canitrot premiered his latest single ‘Samothrace’, which is out now on all streaming platforms via Wagram International.
A melodic house meets techno production, the track sees Canitrot deliver a night-tripping instrumental that aims to conjure up the driving energy and grandeur of his Palais Royal show, immersing all listeners in the live show ambiance.
On Thursday 12 May, Michael made history with an exclusive event to mark the official closing ceremony of the French Presidency of the European Union. Attended by over 2000 people, and endorsed by the French Ministry of Culture, the one-off event was the first ever Paris edition of his Monumental Tour – a series that has seen him light up monuments across France with live sets.
First launched back in 2020, the tour was born from Michael’s desire to ensure that historical sites and venues remain relevant and important to younger and future generations. By bringing electronic music, art installations, video projections and lightshows he is able to showcase these sites in a new light and highlight the importance of their preservation.
Catching the attention of the President Macron, his status within the French music scene is possibly reaching new heights for electronic music.
Echoing his New Year’s Eve Monumental Tour at Château de Chantilly, Mont Saint Michel – which saw 6.3 million TV viewers tune in, the Palais Royal show will air on 30 June 30 via France TV.
