DJenerates - the first NFT collection ‘immortalising iconic dance music characters’, backed by the likes of Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Paul Oakenfold, Ricardo Villalobos, and Jamie Jones — is on a four-month global search for talent in collaboration with DJ Mag, Amnesia Ibiza and KlubCoin. The search, which is open for applications now, will see DJs take part in live streaming sets in Club JENR8, the virtual club located in the Decentraland Metaverse.
Across the four month search, the virtual performers will be appraised on metrics including track selection, mixing ability, promotional activities, and streaming performance. DJ streams will be broadcast and syndicated via their Metaverse and social media networks providing exposure for all DJs and artists taking part. A Klubcoin tipping system will also be available, allowing the performers to be tipped in Cryptocurrency.
Semi-finalists will be chosen to perform at the contest’s final in the Amnesia virtual club in Decentraland. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges from Amnesia Ibiza, DJenerates, Clubbing TV, KlubCoin, DJ Mag, and DJs from the collective.
The winner of the search will be flown to Ibiza for an exclusive gig at Amnesia Ibiza this coming summer. The winner will also receive 10,000 KlubCoins and Djenerates NFTs — alongside a feature in DJ Mag. All entrants will receive promotional rewards including NFTs and merch throughout the contest.
Djenerates founder Tim Meyer said: “This is the first type of event of its kind combining the Metaverse and real life experience, providing our community with unique utility and a priceless opportunity for emerging artists.”
Registrations to enter the search are open until 20 May. DJs can register to enter the contest here.
