Classmatic & Gabe link up for their ‘Encoding EP’ on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this month, turning in three house tracks. Previously releasing on the likes of Solid Grooves Raw, Repopulate Mars, and Spinnin’ Deep between them, this EP sees the two Brazilian producers collaborate for the first time, refining their respective sounds to build a set of heads-down house tracks.
With its bassline, lFX, and drum programming, ‘Encoding’ kicks off proceedings with a trippy and hypnotic atmosphere. ‘Patchwork’ brings the energy up with melted vocals and a bubbling low end, displaying the duo’s production style.
For the final track ‘Poison’, Classmatic goes solo, deploying a wonky bassline and percussion buried amongst a series of build-ups designed, alongside the rest of the EP, with the after-hours in mind.
Classmatic & Gabe ‘Encoding EP’ lands via Hottrax on 26 February.
