Jamie Fielding steps up to Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this month with three cuts of late-night house in the ‘Mind 3 EP’. Inspired by a DJ set from the Hottrax label boss back in 2018, Fielding set out to purchase his own set of decks and production equipment the very next day. Fast forward to 2021 and the Clacton-based DJ/producer is now set to make his debut on Jones’ imprint with a set of house tracks.
Lead track, ‘Mind 3’, combines vocals with crisp, bumpy percussion as the track twists and turns through an unusual arrangement. ‘It’s A Vibe’ with Daley G sees the duo deploy low end and tripped out FX, coming correct with a heads down vibe throughout.
The stripped back ‘Work It’ rounds off the release, with vocal chops and punchy low end making their mark across the track: a consistent theme throughout the EP.
