Emerging from a city steeped in dance music culture, Chicago’s John Summit is apparently becoming one of the city’s brightest rising stars. Making his Defected debut with ‘Deep End’ earlier this summer, following releases on Repopulate Mars, Dirtybird and Farris Wheel Recordings, the record is boosting John’s standing as a possible one-to-watch.
Rising to Beatport #1, crowned Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune and landing itself on the Kiss FM playlist within weeks of its release, ‘Deep End’ now gets the remix treatment from Miami duo Black V Neck, whose take on the record includes a deep, wandering bassline and adrenaline-fuelled builds that give the record a new, club-focussed sound.
It’s out 7 August.
