Starting 2020 as they mean to go on, Defected will host Printworks’ first event of the year on New Year’s Day, bringing in the new decade with an all day affair. Soundtracked by some of the label’s hottest talent, the event will come as part of a New Year’s double-header, with the label’s disco counterpart Glitterbox taking over the 6,000-capacity venue on New Year’s Eve the night before.
The label are dedicated to championing both rising stars and household names with their line-ups and Armand Van Helden tops the bill along with Defected’s Sam Divine, Low Steppa and Dutchman Ferreck Dawn. Roberto Surace, whose record ‘Joys’ is possibly one of the biggest house records of 2019, and Defected head-honcho Simon Dunmore also join the line-up.
As a label, Defected aim to push the boundaries of modern house, but with a catalogue of classics from across their 20 years of releasing records, the programming also reflects its heritage roots, as sub-label 4 To The Floor take over Room 2 with Smokin’ Jo, Seamus Haji and HiFi Sean.
