Franck Roger & Mandel Turner

Today will see Franck Roger continue with his Home Invasion imprint with the ‘Walking Papers’ EP, comprising three solo tracks and one collaboration with Mandel Turner. The French producer and DJ has possibly been at the forefront of the global underground house scene for nearly two decades, heading up the Real Tone imprint amongst releases for DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted, Carl Craig’s Planet E, Innervisions and Paris’ Versatile amongst many others.

Here though you see Franck pushing forward with his Home Invasion imprint, a vinyl only platform predominantly for his own productions and occasional releases from other house acts.

Up first is ‘Floating’ which sees him deliver authentic house fuelled by spiralling pad swells, swinging rhythms and thunderous subs. ‘No Rush’ follows and tips the focus over to a more energy fuelled aesthetic via frenzied disco house tinged sample chops, fluttering delays and dusty drum samples.

On the flip Franck teams up once again with regular vocal collaborator Mandel Turner to create a slice of Chicago influenced house fuelled by bumpy drums, bass and an amalgamation of soulful vocal lines from Turner. ‘7 Sins’ then closes out the package on a dubbed out tip with echoing stab sequences, reverberated sonic blips and an intricately evolving drum machine workout.

It’s out today.
