Coming straight out of Manchester, UK is NB Audio – a brand new label set up to cater for a cross section of electronic music. With a barrage of well-versed and experienced heads behind it, this first release comes from fellow Manchester residents Snap Shot – a new alias of Mark XTC (Da Intalex) and Microcosm (North Base) – two producers with a wealth of bass-heavy knowhow between them.
With one of the tracks the instrumental of ‘Dark Shadow’, Snap Shot talk you through the other four tracks from the five-track EP. It’s out now.
'Dark Shadow’ ft. Tonn Piper – “We were thinking of Shadow Boxing when we made this, as well as some drum and bass tracks from the late-90s, where artists like Dillinja and Ed Rush & Optical would keep the track building all the way to the second drop, we thought it would work well with an MC and brought in Tonn Piper to add another dimension, the lyrics he came up with fitted the mood of the track perfectly.”
‘Dooms’ – “Another D&B track influenced by some the darker tracks of the ‘90s, we thought we would bring it up to date with a half step beat and more modern production techniques.”
‘Blow Yer Mind’ – “This tune harks back to our shared love of house and techno again with similar influences to the rest of the EP. So pleased with this one.”
‘Wave Length’ – “This is us messing around at a slower tempo, using similar ideas that we used on our D&B tracks but for the dubstep generation. Great results we reckon!”
