Philipp "Santé" Maier’s latest EP on Desolat, ‘Surrender’, is a vocal collaboration with Ben King (of Expatriate's fame) that immerses the listener into a combination of groove, vocals, and a touch of Unkle for good measure. A full-bodied version of the track is dubbed with no vocals and transformed with a neatly arranged beastly kick.
Fur Coat, riding high from their successful album on Crosstown Rebels, provide a surprising remix which shows a darker side of the Venezuelan's duo, perfectly encapsulating where they're going with their sound. Wasting no time - this one kicks off the track with a coarse bassline that immediately rattles your face off. Fur Coat also deliver a dubbed rendition of ‘Surrender’, a deeper vibe with wave like bouncers. ‘Thinking of You’ rounds off the package.
