Usual Things Around

Detroit’s Hypertone follows up its debut release with a single from production trio Usual Things Around featuring a remix from Hector. New Detroit label Hypertone launched earlier this year with Noël Jackson’s single ‘My Baby Don’t Stop’, a record that received support from the likes of Mr C, Clive Henry, Groove Armada, James Teej & Danny Howells. Now the imprint is back with its second release, this time provided by the production trio of Usual Things Around.

Usual Things Around is made up of Manuel de Lorenzi, Paul DC and Samuele Pirani, three long-term friends who joined forces at the beginning of 2012 to work together. Manuel needs little introduction having established himself as a producer over the last six years, recording for labels such as 8bit, High Grade, Akbal etc. He is also the label manager for Indepth Music and has been a regular DJ on Italy’s club scene for over a decade. Paul DC got to know Manuel through the infamous Aqva Disco Village parties in the ‘90s and in recent years the pair have worked together on a number of projects including releases on Indepth. Samuele Pirani makes up the vital third piece in this musical arrangement joining Manuel and Paul with his passion for electronic music.

The single kicks off with title track ‘All I Want to Do’, a deep, shuffling slice of house music that features understated melodic elements and vocals over a rolling hypnotic groove. A linear arrangement and subtle shifts in the mix give the record a real ‘heads down’ dancefloor feel from beginning to end. The second original track comes in the form of ‘Gimme The Sound’, a record that continues in the same deep and stripped vein as ‘All I Want To Do’ and once again showcases the trio’s ability to deliver quality electronic music. To close the release, Desolat man Hector is at the remix controls and here he takes ‘All I Want to Do’ and gives it a techy, acidic edge reworking the original into a stripped and intense affair that is a good alternative to the deep original.

I am curious to find out what blog system you have been working with? I'm experiencing some small security problems with my latest site and I'd like to find something more safe. Do you have any solutions?
