As the festival season approaches, Dimensions Festival embarks on its UK launch party tour. The festival, which runs from 6th – 9TH of September, is set against a backdrop of the stunning region of Istria, Croatia in the abandoned Fort Punta Christo. With artists like Detroit’s Moodymann, Sweden’s Little Dragon, London’s Four Tet and Berlin techno pioneer Marcel Dettmann, Dimensions is set to potentially be one of the best new house and techno festivals of 2012.
Now the festival arrives in London for its launch party, taking place in a secret location in London on Friday 1st June. After the success of Elgo Records third birthday, label founders Alex Nut and Floating Points call on support from Funkineven for a preview of Dimensions Festival. With years of experience on Rinse FM, Alex Nut has become a true tastemaker and the voice behind the label. Breaking into the scene back in 2009 with ‘Love Me Like This’, Floating Points has gone from strength to strength, releasing pure quality music with real retro appeal. Keeping the Elgo sound warm, East London’s Funkineven compliments the label providing groove-heavy and soulful beats. The special guest for the night will provide a diversion to his usual DMZ style with non other than Mala taking to the system. South East London has become the perfect hiding place for secret venues. Dimensions have gone even further to find a secret location worthy of this party. Check the Dimensions website for details: http://www.dimensionsfestival.com/launch-parties/
