Sónar 2012 recently added more than 30 new artists to its line-up, including USA’s Flying Lotus (who will be performing two shows), the UK’s Simian Mobile Disco (presenting their new album), the dark synthpop duo from Canada, Trust, and the Russian techno DJ and producer Nina Kraviz.
Among the new additions are the world premiere of Mostly Robot at Sónar by Day, conceived by Native Instruments. Mostly Robot is a band featuring Jamie Lidell, Tim Exile, Jeremy Ellis, DJ Shiftee and Mister Jimmy all playing a live “technological jam” together with audio visual collective Pfadfinderei. The festival presents the complete schedule for the SonarDôme stage, curated by Red Bull Music Academy; the BBC Radio 1 showcase, headed by Annie Mac and Simian Mobile Disco; and adds up to 17 new names to the long list of Spanish artists featured at this year's event.
