Kindness recently announced details of his debut album, North American release details and SXSW dates.W’orld, You Need A Change Of Mind’ will be released through Casablanca/ Terrible on May 8th 2012. The good thing about the music Adam Bainbridge makes as Kindness is how little it tells you about its origins. It bears the fingerprints of no specific scene, no particular country, no certain era. Co-produced with Philippe Zdar, (Phoenix, The Rapture) the album was recorded and mixed at Zdar's 'Motorbass' studio in Paris.
A cast of various musicians join Bainbridge and Zdar on the album, the Grammy award-winning producer lending his talents to the drums on more than one track.'World, You Need A Change Of Mind takes in the leftfield New York disco dub testaments of Walter Gibbons and Larry Levan, the cosmopolitan arthouse funk rhythms of Grace Jones and the Tom Tom Club and the frictionless R&B of Alexander O’Neal, all swirled around with the blurry Polaroid pop of Ariel Pink. Kindness will also be playing the upcoming SXSW 2012 Festival on the below dates:
