Melanie Sutherland

Broken Records releases ‘Daydreams’, the debut EP from Toronto based DJ/producer Melanie Sutherland. Taking you on a spiritual, blissful journey, with its sweet soulful vocals and classic Afro-beat vibe, this is lovely EP from Melanie, especially for those who like to hear their 4/4 beats on the mellow tip.

Melanie Sutherland started off her DJ career spinning reggae at small parties and quickly branched out landing her first gig to spin house music in Detroit. She plays many different genres of house but her underlying sound is deep and soulful with African and Latin vibes and she hosts her brand of soul on her own Mixshow on ElectronicMusicCafe.com every Thursday at 2pm (EST).

The EP features the talents of Michelle Belmonte on vocals and Nikki Andre on keyboards on ‘Align With The Sky’, which is loungey, chill track with an Afro-Cuban feel combined with Nikki’s sensual vocal stylings. Also featured is Nigel Pitt on live percussion on ‘Afroism’, a funky guitar filled hypnotic track. Finishing the EP are ‘Hot Pants’ and ‘Starry’, two light-hearted piano filled tracks with an incredible mood and groove!
