Roland Leesker

Get Physical Music welcomes back Roland Leesker for one of his new singles, this time with a remix from Alinka. Leesker's contributions to the label work well and in recent times he has collaborated with Roland Clark on ‘WTF!’ and served up a cover of ‘Crazy’ as well as co-producing 'No Way Out' with Neil Barber at Hot Kitchen Studios in Berlin back in September.

'Circuit Funk' is an analogue electro jam with rugged drums and old school attitude thanks to the cyborg vocals. The hits are crips and the bass is fat, with plenty of sci-fi details and a breakdown all building the atmosphere before the prickly and physical electro-funk groove takes off once more.

Ukrainian-born but Chicago-raised and now based in Berlin, Alinka is apparently a regular at many of Europe's underground parties. She has released on labels like Rekids, Crosstown Rebels and Needwant this year so is in a run of form that continues with this remix. It is a hard-hitting rework of the original with big, bouncy house drums. Myriad sinewy synths, effects and rising arps pack the groove with detail and make it a cut that aims to bring real freshness.

It’s out now.
